Yeah, it will operate as a DSM2 rx with that radio. But you will want to
still use dsmx sats. with it if needed. I believe I have that right

I think you have it right logo.

I believe the DSMX receiver will need DSMX sats, but it will definitely work with the DSM2 TX.

Hopefully, one of the really smart guys will come along and confirm one way or the other.

Actually, I picked that up from one of those really smart guys And he should be along shortly to confirm when he sees this, right dkshema?

He flows a lot of good constant advice!

I am just always trying to remember it all correctly

I'm not one of the smart guys (smart ass maybe) but yes you can. Just don't mix and match DSM2 and DSMX receivers/remote receivers.

Still using a DSM2 11x here myself.

OK, kids - one more time...

ALL DSMx receivers work with ALL DSM2 Transmitters. They will bind and operate in DSM2 mode.

ALL DSM2 receivers work with ALL DSMx Transmitters. They will bind and operate in DSM2 mode.

If you have a DSMx receiver, USE ONLY DSMx satellites with it.

If you have a DSM2 receiver, USE ONLY DSM2 satellites with it.

DO NOT MIX DSMx and DSM2 receiver parts.

Do what dkshema says but I would suggest to send your JR 11x unit to Horizon hobbies to covert your 11x to dsmx so your 11x can work with either system if you upgrade your rx's to dsmx.Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

His radio already DOES work with DSMx receivers NOW, there is no NEED to upgrade. The two will be quite happy, operating in DSM2 mode.

The only thing DSMx actually buys you is the ability to operate reliably in extremely crowded 2.4 GHz radio environments -- events like the IRCHA Jamboree, Joe Nall, SEFF, and other places where a million people with all sorts of radios want to fly at the same time.

Unless you fly at those huge events, DSMx doesn't really provide you with any additional features or cool operational bits. If you're thinking telemetry, if the TX doesn't support it now, upgrading to DSMx won't either.

So he can be happy with what he has, or spend $75 for the DSMx upgrade and not really see much return on his investment.

His 11x is a DSM2 radio. As it is, it will work perfectly fine with DSMx receivers. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Even at ircha dsm2 would not be an issue. why bother upgrading to dsmx when almost everyone has done so.

just follow what dkshema wrote in his last post

Really? I don't know if I would risk it. If something did happen while using dsm2 everyone would be up in arms I would think.
I did the upgrade just in case I am ever in that situation.Even with the upgrade to dsmx I can still use either dsmx or dsm2 recievers.. I also had them upgrade the software to the newer XG11 software.
My 11x was a new to me radio so I sent it in to Horizon to be checked over. 75 bucks for that I feel is a drop in the bucket for this hobby anyways especially for piece of mind.
