This is a raging pain on tablets with no actual mouse, and I think RR is the only site I have seen in years without a "Reply with quote" function.

Perhaps something Mark would consider adding?

I think I did it....It's easy when you know how. Just click the 'quote ' button. No need for a 'reply to quote button'.
But yes, definitely more complicated on a tablet without touch screen.
This is too easy gonna quote some shakespear..

You can also simply do it the old fashioned way:

Copy the text you want to quote into your edit window.

In front of the text add:
, at the end of the text block, type
. (Just leave out the space between the "e" and "]".

In your previous post, you have those two HTML tags swapped....

Martin -- go back and edit your last post....

take out the "space" just to the left of each right hand bracket "]".

Right now you have "e ]" in both places. Make it look like "e]".

here's a couple of short keys if you're using a windows OS
highlight what you want for text
ctrl+c =copy
ctrl+v =paste
ctrl+x = cut
ctrl+b = bold
ctrl+i = italics
ctrl+z = undo
ctrl+d =delete
ctrl+a =select all
just a few for starters

or just right click on highlighted text in the pop up select what you want

I just highlight the text I want to quote (after hitting Post Reply) and drag it to the reply box, then hit quote once - all done.

I'm not smart enough to do a video like Mac did.

The only 'quote' button is in the editor and simply adds the tag - the non-problem of the process. Tablet Firefox cut and paste is a pain (when it allows paste at all), and hence 'reply with quote' to put the entire quoted post in tags in the editor allowing it to be trimmed would be a lot easier . . .Friends don't let friends become electrotarded . . . .

Tablet Firefox cut and paste is a pain
On your tablet, download a keyboard that has mouse buttons.
And set your multi touch to use a long touch as a right click.

The only 'quote' button is in the editor
Why would you want it anywhere else?

No cut and paste nedded.
Just drag the part you want to quote into the editor qnd hit QUOTE.
