Kyle and Tareq are both world class pilots. To pick which one is best is the age old ford vs chevy question. Only way to figure it out is to get them both at an event like 3D Master or IRCHA and let the judges finally put it to rest.

Over all my pick would be Kyle. But if it was flying a 700 size bird in a gym, then Tareq it is.

World Class Pilot
I am not sure it is valid to call Tareq a wold class pilot. To do so would denote that he has competed on the world stage. As far as I know he has never competed in any competition.

Kyle Dahl, Jamie Roberts, and many others, have competed on the world stage and deserve the acknowledgement of being world class pilots. Competition is what sets apart smack pilots from the true world class pilots.

Being able to perform complex, required maneuvers, .along with showing a great variation and creativity in performance is what makes them different.

There's a guy that plays basketball in Central Park who makes Michael Jordan look like a preschooler. Just because he doesn't play in the NBA doesn't mean he's not the best ball player around. Not competing make Tareq no less a pilot. I'd even be willing to bet there is some guy or girl out there who is better than Tareq, Kyle, and Nick put together but has no desire to be known or compete. Just sayin.

I think it's worth drawing the distinction between tournament flying and smack-down or "show" flying.

Competitive pilots have to do everything well in every direction.. reversed piros, skids out and skids in, frontwards, backwards, etc. There's also a requirement for precision in the shapes of loops, symmetry, flying maneuvers within a 2D plane...

I generally say that Kyle with Jamie are the best contest pilots, while Tareq and Bert are among the best show pilots. The Duncan guy might push it on both fronts.

Maybe it's kinda like hockey players and figure skaters, but the analogy doesn't hold up for much other than that hockey players can't cut precise figures, and do perfect spinning jumps. But then again, figure skaters can't smack at all, so that's not apt.

oops, bounced it!

Like Laila Ali challenging Ronda Rousey.

When fighting to a scorecard,Ali might actually win but if it were mandatory that the fight go to a knockout,Ronda would absolutely kill her.lol...

Yeah, except that would be only for that day.

Compete again next week and someone else would win.
As they say..."that's why they play the game."

Any one competition doesn't mean squat...
You could ony say that Duncan was the best pilot that day.
