Hey Guys,

I have an old Trex 600CF and am doing some tweaks to it. Changed from FB to FBL. Also went to a 600 TT instead of the belt drive. I have a RCE BL600MX 510kv 12S motor I was going to slap in it but motor mounts don't fit. That motor is also a 12S and this is a 6S heli.
First question is has anyone used this motor in this heli and converted it to a 12S. If so what do you find for the motor mounts. And what was your gearing for it. With the 12S motor I have a 112t slant main and a 180t auto rot gear from my 600EFL Pro.

I heard the RCE BL600MX 1220kv 6S motor is a good upgrade for this heli. If I went with that motor what gearing would be appropriate?

Thanks for any advise.

I have gone with the 6S rce bl600mx 1220kv motor. If anyone knows a gearing ratio for this motor it would be helpful.

Thanks

Ok, if you plan on using the 112T main gear your going to need an 11T pinion or smaller which I don't think is available.

I would go with the 600MX 510kv on 12s with a 12T pinion and govern to 2100 rpm (but depends on how you want to fly it).

The motor mount can easily by drilled or filed out to bolt the motor in.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Thanks for the advise. I have the RC's B&L 750mx 12s in my 600EFL Pro now. I want to keep this 600CF a 6s bird. I think I will be going with the 112 slant, 180t auto rot and V1 tail gears which are 40t I think.

I used to run a 600mx 1220kv motor on my 550 dfc pro on 6s. Good motor and I feel is better than their newest offering which is a 850 kv motor with a whopping 16t pinion. What head speed do you want to run? That is the important question. I have run the 12 t pinion with the slant 112 gear and ended up with the 10t pinion. Yes there is a 10t pinion available from align. As bad as I thought the 850kv motor is with a 16t pinion I am now going to experiment with this motor with 12 ,11,10 pinions for a low head speed project. All at 100% throttle ,,it should be unboggable with the torque multiplication of the small pinion and bigger blades [600mm]and low kv motor. The reason I even mention this is it is important to have an idea what head speed you are shooting for.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them
