Well joined tonight and love this site. I am just blowing the dust from my old heli's and in search of some items.

First let me introduce myself. I am Martin and started with a shuttle from Dave Niemans around 86'(light blue canopy). What a great shop he had!.I was doing circuits within a month because I went out every day and visited his shop for spares every day LOL.
Yes. was an expensive hobby but I was hooked.
Any way back to the post, I would like to restore some of my models but parts are very hard to find. My every day runner was a Concept 30 fully ball raced and first loops and rolls etc. I need Blades.
If any one knows where or 30 size to fit etc.
Also the EP, I loved this heli but had not much luck flying beacause (my settings) JR Apex 8 and JR PCM 9 two stick. I know the vids of peolpe flying them successfully but I was a novice (still am in most respects).
But would love to know of alternative blades or originals.
Also a Kalt Baron (50) poss a (60) not sure.
Kalt Whisper. Never flew this as electrics were in the EP's but blades?
MH10, I saw people laughing at this. It was very innovative for its time. under slung swash, rubber silencwer that silenced power!!!
Any way, great to finally be a member...
Some of you are thinking "what's the q". Any spares for the above?
Keep up the good posts I have been reading for a while.

ps. got a chance for two Furions 450' Excell...Fully loaded for £250.00

Welcome back to the hobby! I got back in about 4 years ago my self, but I work so much, not much time to fly. I dont have any spares for the Concept 30s, my buddy from years ago had a couple of them, I got to do the rebuilds when he crashed!! Hes passed on now, years ago. Most everyone flys carbon blades now, much better that the old woodies or foam blades from the Kyosho helis.
I have been an X-Cell guy for years, they went out of business this spring, but someone has bought them out and setup shop in Germany. Time will tell what they will be willing to reproduce, or support in the way of parts. Lots of X-cell for sale, but parts...?
Who knows. Anyway welcome back!

Yeah--wooden blade are pretty much long gone in most situations.
But still handy for raw beginners[cheapest to replace in a lurner prang]

Next is usually fibreglass blades for more advanced flyers[some have a little carbon in them]

Then for the those into aerobatics, its usually carbon blades[although fibreglass blades are OK for gentle aerobatics]

Fibreglass and carbon blades make your battery[if you into electric] last a bit longer.
Depending on what sort of flying you do of course.

Just check on the web for what length blades suit you particular Heli.
Bit of confusion here;
Old nitro helis were measured by motor size mostly.
But electric are measured by blade length mostly[although its not exacting]

You will probably need to use blade hub spacers to fit a carbon/fibreglass blades onto an older Heli[1 top and one bottom usually--sometimes they are joined as 1 piece.
As most of the carbon/fibreglass blades have a thinner attachment blade end.

Hi Kencol from down under..
Thanks for the reply. I am mostly going to fly around normally with the odd loop or roll. 3D just doesn't interest me. Don't get me wrong, I find it fascinating even though I cannot comprehend the stick inputs...
I used to be a reasonal pilot banging the concept nitros around hard and fast.
Now though just want to have fun flying again.
I don't have (can't find) the blades for the Kalt Whisper or one of my Concept EP'. They were foam and rubbish. My other Concept EP in a 500 fuse has the foamies but I don't trust them.

On a side note...How do I navigate this forum? I found antiques and out of business yesterday but cannot find it again!!!

All the best to you 'Down Under' from me 'On Top'

Martin Heli-F;

Spare parts for most of those Helis are getting pretty hard to get.

You should get a more modern Heli for regular use[plenty of parts], and only fly the oldies steadily on special occasions.

Beware your radio if its getting pretty old.
The components in it will start to fail intermittently after about 15-20 yrs.

I have a Schluter Heliboy and a Kalt 60[with a black head]
But the tail rotor gearbox cracked apart in the Kalt, and the drive gear inside stripped.
Seems to be pretty hard to get another tailrotor gearbox, or drive gear.

The Heliboy is a nice steady old bird[but I'am not into nitro engines now-never was really-not keen on that high reving small engine noise]

Is that a Baron 50 with a 60 in it? I have a complete heli that I was going to strip for spares.

Check out http://www.vrhc.co.uk for old heli details and as I have all the helicopters you are mentioning, if you need info then direct PM to me and I will see what I can do.

Shame you live so far away from me as its hard to find any serious 'oldie' pilots these days.

Unfortunately now owning two dogs and house modifications means that I have not yet had a look at any heli's. Will probably be a winter project to bring online for next summer.
