Barvarian Demon rudder problems
I have no response to the rudder except mild twitching no matter
what gain or servo travel setting ,I need help .
The set up is on a Radikal gasser using a Airtronics SD-10 G
radio. I tried switching the rudder serv, a Futaba S9254 and Toro
BL 9188 . The Toro (new) does not twitch or move but the Futaba does.Any help on this set up would appreciated.
Cheers Larry

Hard to say what is wrong without the setup info.

What is the pulse and center you chose for the tail servo?

What tail gain did you applied on the software? and on the radio?

What is the diagnostic page showing for tail gain???

Could you post a screen cap of the Tail page from the software?

Tail Page Setup
Tried a few more changes,I adjusted the tail gain to + 85 and got
the tail servo to move in one direction only ,if I use -85 it will move in the opposite direction ,at 100 or -100 it does not move.
Here is the requested photo using GY520 settings.Does anyone else use a Airtronics SD-10G with the Demon ?

Make sure you entered the correct servo type in the set up screen. That's what it sounds like. I had the same problem with my MKS servos. Pulse with is 760.Team Synergy, Team Scorpion, No good deed goes unpunished

Larry,
On the RC tab where you set your servos to digital, there is a separate one for the rudder servo, make sure it is set to 720us.

Larry,

The answer lies in the Diagnose menu.

Do you see the rudder input when you move the rudder stick?
What does the Diagnose window says the tail gain is?

never mind, looks like you go it

In case you need help, I run the BD's with the SD-10G.Part 107.

I know it may sound stupid, but make sure when you change direction in the program that you write it to the 3SX. Also, what is it showing in the diagnostic page?Team Synergy, Team Scorpion, No good deed goes unpunished

Like the others said, the Diagnose page will tell you what you are commanding.

If you don't see positive commands for center and both directions (to 100%) being shown on each axis when you move the sticks, then your TX is not configured correctly.

If that is the case TMoore can definitely help you with the TX.

What machine? As far as the radio is concerned once the directions are set per the diagnose page, the BD software does the rest. I can almost guarantee a servo is plugged in to the wrong port or the reversing functions are just not set right. Either way I may be able to help.

Setup running
After many tries I think I have it working,Everthing was balanced on the diagnoses page and the continuous green light on. The SD-10G radio has receiver channels different from Futaba ,I knew about the elevator being in the number one slot and the aileron being in the number two slot on the RX ,but I did not know the tail servo from the demon which is yellow and the gray tail gyro had to be reversed. That was easy enough ,just change channels on the radio.
I took it outside today for a run up (it's a Radikal 30 with a gas engine)with no main blades on ,the controls arms were jumping all over the place,at high rpm settled down. The demon is mounted behind
the main shaft about three inches on the supplied heavy foam tape in line with the main shaft.I would not try to run the heli up with the main blades on ,due to the control arms jump around .Any more suggestion would be help full. Thanks Larry

On my gassers I mount them with the thin tape. Works very good.

I had the same issue with a Radical 30 I built,
but it had the same behavior with a BeastX, the Demon, and a CGY750.
Mounted the gyros in the back, on the side frame, up front, and it made no difference.
It all traced down to a rough running engine, and by rough I mean rougher than normal.

Do not use the thick tape!
The BD works best with the stock thin tape, or thin grey moulding tape.
