I have always had an interest in photography and art. Not exactly Monet or Picasso's on my walls, but Art.

After 6 years of Heli modeling, I took a look around my house. The changes are subtle, but I realize that my family has changed with me.

See if you notice a trend in our current collection.

** Love this hobby. Thanks Runryder for teaching me daily and giving me a HeliSocial outlet. (Hate FB!!)

To all my Heli friends...have a good flying weekend.

Boom supports
She is very observant. At 5 she surpasses most of my co-workers in this area. And she doesn't mind when i nerdout at my workstation. She always wants to help on heli builds. Daddy's heli girl.😃

Abigail is a true artist. That is oils on canvas. LOL.
**She did that at her art class...only allowed water color at home.

Yes, Abi sims. Likes the crashes. My son is 6 and can fly everything on the sim. Just sticks to his quad & Foamie at the field for now.

Those paintings are a tie with my N7 for best Birthday gift.

French
No, none of us speak French. Family is of German-Irish decent. English is our only choice. But both women have light red hair and blue eyes.
And if you give my wife a beer; she tries to take over the world. Germans! You'd think a hangar full of Mikados would be appropriate.

Thanks to you all.
The Heli community is spread out, but still tightly knit. Love that about RC.
The Framed Rave print is actually a t-shirt that Curtis sent to me after a housefire. It means a lot, not just because I'm a CYE fan. But, while my family and I were living in a hotel I got a package from my favorite Hobby store. Power RC in Bryan, TX.(RIP)
Other than my kids making me laugh at a terrible situation, was the Bright point of my year. The same guys invited me to Funfly and helped me get my lone saved bird working and charge all my packs for me. Even though it wasn't one of their helis. They helped to pull me out of a funk.

How can you not love a Hobby or the Persons who partake, with these examples of camaraderie.

These toys, RR on my iphone and my family (heli included) keep me SANE. This may be disputed at anytime.

**And I love even the disagreements that come from this forum. Sometimes you have to seek out intelligent, like minds. Got a bucket full here.

Yes. Helis have changed my life.

I am much poorer than I otherwise would have been.

I'd be rich were it not for firearms and helis. Dang toys.

^^^ Agreed ^^^ Except no firearms.

Also, I used to drink a lot of beer before I started in helis back in the 90's. I just about stopped completely back then to avoid being fuzzy-headed the next day when I want to FLY! Don't drink at all now for many years. You could say my beer money now goes into you-know-what

I was very into R/C helis for more than a decade. I was one of those who would say it bordered on a sickness. I traded most of my freetime for APBA Inboard hydroplane racing a few years ago and broke free of the R/C sickness. I still look forward to a flight now and then but I am free of it ever being an addiction or sickness again. R/C heli hasn't "changed my life" but it is still a fun hobby. I am amazed at how much airplane and heli R/C has changed in the past couple of years while most of my focus was on the hydroplane. Almost everything I own would be considered vintage or classic now.

Local field
Just an updates on RC and its effects on the heliaddict.

We are losing our field. It has been open since 1989. A local developer bought it and will be giving us the boot soon. He promised to help us relocate, but hasn't come through with anything tangible.

I have contacted our local paper and news channels. Hopefully we can find a suitable location.

But....I am truly hurt by the prospect of losing our little haven of RC sanity/insanity.
They have started construction and say we can use the field for 6 mos. We can't fly over workers. They don't understand AMA rules.

This is a total bummer. I guess back to cow pastures and local parks for me. I will miss this club.

* thought I would just vent. My RR buddies always cheer me up.
