I'm looking for a fiberglass canopy that will fit the Raptor 550FBL electric. From what I can tell, it looks as if the X50 canopy would be the same one that is used on the 550FBL but not sure. The canopy that comes with the 550FBL is different from the other standard "milk jug" plastic that TT has used over the years and it also seems longer (stretched) then the ones used on the 30's and 50's.

Thanks! Mark

the x50 canopy is a direct replacement on the e550fbl raptor
but you do get the x50 decals on them
mines running with a x50 one as i couldn't get the e550 cano when it met mother earth

Fusuno will do one as well. Make sure you tell them to change the decals for you (no charge).

Thanks guys,

Fusuno does make one that I like....the red one....since they only show 2 right now...lol It does have the Titan X50 decals on it but that really doesn't bother me. So I just need to decide to either order one without the X50 decals or just wait until IRCHA and try and find one there and go with the decals.

To be clear, Fusuno will do anything you want with basically no lag time, so if you want one without the decals just send them an email. They'll crank it out in about a week's time.

Thanks for the info Ben,

By the way, do you (or anybody else reading this) know what kind of material the OEM one is made of and how doe it handle paint. Mine (550FBL) looks like it has some kind of clear sprayed on the whole canopy and then the decals were applied.....??????

The OEM E550FBL is ABS plastic. It takes paint very well if you want to topcoat the base white.

ABS or FRP?
Ok, do we know which one it is for sure?....but in the big picture, either one should take paint well.....Thanks! Mark

My E550FBL was built around the second half of summer 2014. The canopy is unequivocally ABS.

I agree with you Ben...at least the one I have seems more like ABS.

I can say, from my experience, painting this canopy is not a problem. Paint sticks nicely, canopy is easy to trim with curved scissors that RC car guys use. Epoxy and CA stick good, too.
I've shortened mine about an inch and moved grommet holes to reposition the canopy down and back. Suits me better.

Peel them stickerz off 'n go to work.
