Began therapy today,...doctor's orders. Slow process, just a start and was more of a "test" session for me to see if the process and results would be satisfactory. Pretty happy with it. Bad news is the doctor said that based on today's progress, he wants to triple, maybe even quadruple my therapy sessions. I cant decide if I am looking forward to that or not!!!

Went fishing today and somehow managed to reel in a rare baby Bell 222. It is about 1/5 the size of a full grown Bell 222, but was well within the legal size, so I kept it. Wife wants me to mount it and paint it to look like a full grown Bell. Sound like a good idea to me. Here's the fish at the dock........

Seriously though, I am all primered out!! Yea for me!! (I think!).

I would be remissed if I didnt show you all a pic of the one and only area I found some trash in the primer coat. I am sorry for that. I was hoping to bat a thousand, but I guess I am not as good as I thought I was. I may have to sand the entire primer coat off and redo it all over again......

Some misc pics for your viewing pleasure......

One final thing, you know what distinguishes me from all the other scale heli modelers?? I make the PPE attire (Personal Protection Equipment) look good!!!!!

Now it's on to rivets, rivets and more rivets!!

Only got a few precious moments with the Lady today and only managed a few more rivets. Slowly but surely.......

Riveting is going to be somewhat of a slow process. Tis what it tis.

what kind of glue is used?

I didn't crash. I just ran out of airspeed, altitude, and ideas all at the same time!

It's my own special mix of pot ash, deer urine, fermenting juice from Kimchi, ground up rice puff cereal and tree sap from a 900 year old Giant Sequia tree.

OR

it might be Formula 560 canopy glue from Hobby Town.

I aint tellin!

Thanks Stan!!!

Therapy Doctor said progress was "decent", so he ordered up a double session. So after the first round dried, we tackled round two....

So far fairly happy with how the rivets are turning out. Not as "perfect" as I had envisioned, but still decent. And they shrink more than I anticipated, so they are not as "tall" as I was hoping, but maybe that will end up being a good thing and result in a more realistic looking/sized rivet. Hopefully the dark final paint color brings them out a bit.

Rivets Look Scale to me!
Based on this close up I took of an EC145 , I'd say your rivets (not Bolts) look absolutely to scale! Great Work!!!

Weather was nice and I was in the mood, so I decided to do a little more riveting. One hour later and I got another big chuck of rivets in place.
Pleased with how straight the long run of rivets are turning out...

Do to the inaccuracy of the Vario fuse, I am having to take some artistic liberty with the majority of the rivet lines and locations, but I aint mad about though. It is starting to look like a helicopter and that is all I can ask for. I am about halfway finished with the right side. Carry on!

Straight, evenly spaced rivets look great!!! Crooked rivet lines and uneven spacing can make the nicest heli look like dog doo Job well done!

Thanks Barry!

Right side of fuse is done, moving on the left side. I'm happy with the progress and the results so far. Might actually get to paint the thing this year!!!

More boring riveting pics.....
