It wasn't even close in the OP's video and I believe people had already started walking away so it made them jump having their backs to the incoming heli.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Not to belabor a point, but on the flip side of the annoying-safety-police crowd is the annoying juvenile crowd that would make fun of a guy for having a sudden revelation of the power and danger, and his proximity to it, and removing himself from the situation.

This thread invites response from safety police just by its title alone. Sure, point and laugh at hasty retreats. No big deal. But then to suggest that safety minded people should just sit quiet and keep commentary to themselves, I have to SMH. It almost makes me think of school when kids would throw an insult and then say "no backies." Sorry, but effectively calling safety minded folks cowards will get you commentary on recklessness in return. Fair is fair.

So here it is, unsolicited: This sort of flying should make any rational man brown-trou. NO ONE, of ANY skill level, should be doing maneuvers of that sort that close to themselves and especially anybody else.

There I said it. You may dismiss this opinion as easily as I dismiss your opinion of me being a coward for never being near a flightline when this sort of thing is going on.

Life is short but I want to live it with all my limbs and digits.
So sue me. (How 1980's is THAT?!)

I completely agree with the above post.
If you want to dive into an empty pool, or fly in close proximity to yourself that's your business.
But I have a big problem when it's done around anybody that lacks the knowledge and dangers of this hobby.

I'm sure most of us are guilty of flying too close at one time or another, hopefully most quickly become aware just how dangerous these helicopters can be, and start flying in a responsible manner and at a reasonable safe distance from themselves and others.

I personally think anybody flying in such a manner lacks common sense, especially if experienced. This goes for any sport, occupation, hobby, etc. Safety should always be the first thing on your mind, and never taken lightly.

Its all earth!
