Ultraguard, way more sophisticated yet simpler to use than the scorpion.

Get it with the LED that indicates when the back up system is activated.

The Goblin is not overkill, it is the best 700 size low head speed gasser I have flown. It also happens to work equally well at high head speeds. You will be amazed how smooth it is.

I enjoy flying the Goblin with a wide range of head speeds.

I like to keep it in the 12.5 range just to know that I have the same disk loading as a Electric Heli.

Disk loading
The goblin is 2 to 3 lbs heavier than an electric, So to get similar disk loading you need to put bigger blades on it, nothing to do with the pitch in the blades. It will probably never feel as light as an electric but will feel better with a bigger disk in my opinion.

I did a Google search on how much a electric goblin wights and it seems like there around 12 and change. There was one at 13. My helix G700 has really good disk loading at 12.5.

The only thing bad about going with biger blades is you start robbing power from the engine.

I misunderstood, I thought you meant 12.5 degrees of pitch not 12.5 lbs.

My whiplash is 12.66 lbs with the generator system which is on the light side of gassers. It could be as low as 12.25 lbs or less if I did stuff to lighten it up.

The Helix gasser is pretty light at 12.5lbs that's a good weight

Rob, I believe stock Goblin blades are 690mm.

Wow the whiplash is very light. The thunder tiger E700 is also going to be a light one. The only thing is I'm not a fan of bell cranks also the head is kind of tall

my modded G20 running 969mains comes in at 11.5 lbs flying weight... if I had a geny guess it would be 11.7?

I think PistolPete has a G20 (600mm mains) thats under 10 lbs (9.3 according to his gallery)... but its stripped down, no extras like a generator.

G20
When I had my G20, fully equipped with a dual output generator for RX and ignition and superbright remote charge indicator LED as a headlight, it was just under 11 lbs, see pictures below and here is a link to my gallery with more pictures of her:

https://rc.runryder.com/gallery/418...-Welcome&page=4

That generator added no more than 6oz with the mount so the heli without it would have been about 10.6 lbs RTF without it. You could probably shave off 1/2 a pound by putting on smaller blades, maybe no air filter and a lighter muffler. Rodney tried to drill holes in the G20 to lighten it up (swiss cheese style) but he lost motor mass and it burned up because there was nowhere for the heat to get absorbed away from the cylinder.

yeah, milling your engine does not save you much at all considering the engine block is magnesium and has no steel cylinder liner... the cylinder is about as thin as aluminum as you can get. You could use ceramic bearings to save a few oz though... but they are expensive. when i made the titanium crank for the engine i had wear issues around the con rod big end... and the balance factor was not suited to anything over 11K rpms. but it only weighed 65% of the steel crank.

my hats off to those that can afford the nice helis... my money seems to go to upgrades and fixing... thats seems to be my addiction.
