please guys if theres anyone here with the dx7 and the NEXT sim that have the Throttle hold & autorotation working properly could you please explain what you did to get it to work. I've tried the suggestions posted to no avail. don't know what I'm doing wrong. thanks

Poor guy. Come on, guys. No one should wait this long without at least a reply.

I don't have a NEXT sim, but make sure that the Throttle Hold switch is enabled in your radio. I think the DX-7 comes with the thing inhibited. And so the computer won't know what to look for.

Sorry if this is incorrect or incomplete. I don't have the NEXT sim, but I have a DX7

Someone needs to chime in, here. Help a dude out.

No NEXT here either. DX7 came in Heli and airplane format. Could that make a difference?

I have the Next simulator and I was not succesful either. I kind of gave up trying to make the DX8 work because I can use the Real Flight remote which works well with Next and gives me flight modes and throttle hold.

If I try again and succeed with my DX8, I will post the secret recipe...

Did a little digging and came up with this, don't know if it will help.

First instructions I found:
0. Set up linear pitch and throttle curves in your transmitter, and zero throttle for throttle hold.
1. When going through the transmitter calibration procedure, make sure to have throttle hold engaged, so neXt picks up the pitch channel, not the throttle channel with the pitch/throttle stick.
2. Disengage throttle hold, and push the throttle stick all the way up. neXt has already identified and disabled the pitch channel for the rest of the calibration, so it will see this as the throttle channel.
3. Click on "autorotation switch" in neXt, and engage throttle hold. This will cause the throttle signal to drop from full throttle (because your throttle stick is all the way up) to zero, and neXt will recognize this and identify it with throttle hold. Done!

Second instructions I found:
Follow the GUI instructions for stick calibration. You can re-enter the button configuration screen later without having to re-run the stick calibration section.

Start with Throttle Hold forward, Idle Up centered, D/R forward and Knob centered.
Click BUTTON for flight condition 1 and move Idle Up switch forward.
Click BUTTON for flight condition 2 and center Idle Up switch.
Click BUTTON for flight condition 3 and move Idle Up switch back (towards you).
Click BUTTON for flight condition 4 and move D/R switch down. Anytime this switch is down, Flight mode 4 will take precedence over all other flight modes.
Click BUTTON for restart, press the red button.
Click SLIDER for landing gear, turn knob fully clockwise and click NEXT to complete.
Click SWITCH for autorotation and move Throttle Hold switch back (towards you).

It is helpful when opening neXt to have the TH active (switch down), Idle Up set to middle position, Flight Mode 4 active (D/R mode switch down) in order for the program to detect proper switch positions.
