title is misleading, drone HOVERS in National Congressional Meeting, pilot sucks.

the dude gets paid to extend wind, milking it as they say.

what was he trying to say? simply? congress should waive all under 2 kg aerial rc craft commonly known as quad copters, toys, and work toward protecting the public with regs applying to 3kg and above rcas, those with "commercial" potential.

personally I would go further to include any rcas laden with a payload of any kind making the combined weight exceed the limitation be considered an rcas falling into the next category and regs.

INSURANCE BABY, gonna fly big, better have your ass covered or it stands to be kicked from here to kingdom come. All good and well when you can apply regs, never stopped everyone from trying to bend and or break them.

Someone said, the laws are only advice until someone gets caught.

(I'll be turning this hobby into full size considerations, plans are advancing, these kind of things like drone toys have to be IDIOT PROOFED, don't they)

I swear that guy sounds like a tweaker. I don't think he presents well at all for a venue as important as this.

I also heard he had to get special permission from the FAA to fly it at that hearing.

I think the rationale was that since they were lobbying for commercial use, they had to get the FAA's permission.

Don't know....but the FAA frowns on the commercial use of drones.....

If he was just a hobbyist, it would've been ok without the FAA.

The FAA frowns on anything aeronautical that they can't profit from.

Washington DC is a designated FRZ (flight restricted zone) you have to call the FAA when your wife throws a plate at you! seriously, there is a FRZ around all of Washington DC.

That and we all know that there are no guns in Wash DC. (wait, they dropped that law).

The reason he did not fly it around the room (wisely) was because he would have flown over peoples heads. Just imagine if something did happen in front of all those hi-caliber people.

Could of got quad flying banned in a single moment!

Yep! You definitely always have to start somewhere! He should take up after dinner speaking for insomniacs.
