AMA is on board with it:

http://amablog.modelaircraft.org/am...arrior-project/

I heard from local a veteran group that claim the WWP is not what it appears in it's advertising and there are better ways your donations can be used to directly help disabled Vets. Any opinions out there either way?

How embarrassing.

The US Government set these kids to die for their country and then has abandoned them when the returned?

More importantly, if the are wounded, you are sent to the trash heap (Walter Reed Army Hospital) or some understaffed VA Hospital.

So now, after the US Government has bailed on them, the Wounded Warriors are relying on Charity.

Doesn't seem right to me.

The VET's or group you listened too -- would know more than anybody ---their has to be at least 4 or 5 going now : Double Source or VEt their operating cost's.

If it is truthful

Such as the operational cost's of the RED Cross : Load or Overhead

Where the resource is actually going like foreign aid ect.

Ticed is correct - VET's becoming dependent upon Free Will Organization ancillary support ?? instead of the Country they defended and the Others they defended willingly ? Starting wage in the Military is just above $9.00 per hour.

Many level's of defeat after the Military --Not only economic either:

Public is Very Unaware: Thanx Life Nerd for the Awareness of the situation. Maybe more will start looking at the various level's.

Including whom is in charge at those level's.

Please don't believe everything you read or see in the media. Yes, there are some instances where the VA system has failed,

However,
I currently work as a ER nurse at a VA, and I have worked at several civilian hospitals before that. The treatment the vets get is ten times better then what they would receive or what you and I as civilians receive when we go to a hospital. almost no wait in the ERs, plus we do not have to get permission from insurance companies to do CT scans or MRIs or other expensive tests.

Also, {several years ago before I worked at the local VA} I flew with a local RC flyer in Texas who was a wounded warrior, the guy got his leg all jacked up from an IED, he is on disability, he receives full pay every month and will for the rest of his life, all medical expense inside and outside the VA system are covered for him, and he received over $300,000 from the wounded warrior project to spend any way he sees fit. He told me he is very happy and grateful for the treatment he has received from the government.

After viatnam the soldiers were treated like crap, and there is no excuse for that, but concerning the vets of today the majority of those of us who do actual patient care in the VA system do our best to give them the best care they can receive.

Which is worse, ignorance or apathy? I don't know and I don't care!

I agree about the travesty of the US government falling short. I was about to donate a per-month amount to WWP until I started looking into what appears to be a pass-through organization that skims the donations to pay their own high level salaries and advertising. I just don't know if the folks that need the help are actually benefiting directly from WWP or not. I'm sure WWP have raised awareness which is a good thing.

Wasn't till after EBOLA that the Nation finally got a Surgeon General

That was a Cluster - Know whom the NEW one is ?? or why the last one left ? and if Qualified ??

The Corruption and Mis management found in the Administration Level's is WIDELY KNOWN - CRIMINAL : They should not only be exposed but the whole system should not have ONE Civilian in it --They need the job's any way.

Military Health Care can run rings around civil health care in efficiency - COST and accountability do to discipline.

The current system soak's the Tax Payer

Don't do your responsibility - OUT >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Good NEw's Look's like it's coming

Spends about 0.23% of its budget on salaries.

Spends about 38% on advertising.

Spends about 60% on "what it does" -- its programs.

About 6% on administrative expenses.

Gets a pretty decent overall score.

Looks like a decent place to donate, to me.

As an organization - I am sure it is fine.

But, as a country, it is embarrassing that it is needed.

Congress has screwed around and screwed around, and left the veterans in the trash-heap.

The last two wars (the longest in US history) were fought on the credit cards.
The Bush administration / Congress never budgeted for 2 wars lasting 13 years.
And, they are trying to recoup the loss on the backs of the veterans.

Now, if you want to support the Wounded Warriors, you pay a "stealth tax" in the form of charitable contributions to outsource veteran’s care.

Believe 1/2 of what you see and none of what you hear.

How can it BE a STEALTH TAX ??? " Donation's are by Free Will :

Not a requirement of Cesar - YOU HAVE A CHOICE NOT TO Contribute

Stealth tax is like a deposit on a Pop Can - Tire Disposal Fee ect.

TAX is a Requirement - by LAW

Don't support - Not a Stealth Tax - It's by Free Will : Nothing Hidden

Why the IRS and Louis Learner Ect. Went after the Charities during the Campaign

System is FOULED with Liberal Bureaucracy" For or To Defeat - like how they used the Tool of Sequestration to reduce the Military Budget
