Thinking of ordering a new JR XG 11 or 14 from RC Japan. The pricing is somewhat less than getting the radio from the US I did the conversion from Yen to US dollars & i would save over $300.00 with shipping included.
Are the radio's the same as you get in the US. Since there manufactured over there i would assume so. Said i would just have to select what mode i wanted upon ordering. Anyways just checking if anyone has ordered from them before.

I'm pondering the same thing, however there is a 14xg for sale on the other site now and the guy said that the switches are different and not changeable. Mainly the flight mode switch is on the top right and the hold bottom left, the switches are assignable but you can't change the physical switch location meaning hold would be spring loaded and flight made only a 2 position switch, hard to adjust to that.

Yes I read that as well. Guess maybe a call to HH is in order to see about that.

JR also comes with a very good warranty, I suspect one brought in direct from Japan would not be covered in the USA.

I bought a XG11 from RCJapan. Had it now for about a month. Make sure to order a Mode 2 radio and everything should be fine. Switch setup was exactly the same as the Futaba 8FG I bought stateside. The spring loaded 2 position is top right rear, toggle 2 position top left rear. Default flight mode is top right front but assignable.

Great radio, by the way

Don't sweat the petty stuff...

I may be wrong, but I think the Japanese version is limited to 20dBm and the US version limited to 30dBm at the antenna input.

To extend range, a higher gain antenna is used.

Applies to WiFI routers and such....

Haven't found any data as applied to RC.

Geez I wouldn't think so. That is almost half price isn't it? When the JR x9303 first came out I paid 600 dollars back in 2008 or so.

does a home router have the same range as a RC tx?
While there's a ton of info on WiFI RF power output, I can't seem to find that of a RC Tx on 2.4 GHz....

I think I understand now. You traded in your JR 10x for a discount on a new XG 14 through JR America ,,is that correct?
Even still radios have come a long way since the 10x,,and that was a great radio. I think the bottom line is do you like the new JR?
A friend of mine has it [a JR team pilot] and swears by that radio,,just loves it.
Also if you bought from Japan ,,any service would have to be shipped there possibly .

You have it correct. I didn't make myself clear. I love the radio so far. The gimbals are better than my 10 xs2 by far . And it programed very easy .
I don't mind spending more in the USA at all but 300 seems excessive if the radios are identical! I use my phone for surfing so typing isn't the best and
I'm not a typest anyway
