if you download music from the web for free
I don't, but that's just me...

Music from the web for free...like proprietary software.

Would you concede that it's is the same?

You're simply listening to your favorite tunes....you're not re-producing the tunes you downloaded on CDs for sale...right?

What're they doing....re-producing for sale of stolen IP.

And that they "blatantly" have the same shape of the MiniV....with Kbar vs Vbar...get it?......is like giving the middle finger to VStabi...

The gd chi-coms are outrageous.

Yeah, but just think of all that third world malware that you are getting while you wait!
which did not have malware or viruses.

And you said yourself
Granted.....but....the MEMS gyro ICs in the blue MiniV are obsolete and are now longer being manufactured for over a year.
You're simply listening to your favorite tunes....you're not re-producing the tunes you downloaded on CDs for sale...right?

How on earth can you play the race card?

Nothing in this entire thread had anything to do with race.

Other than ChiComs stealing technology from others.

The US is constantly arresting "spies" that gave US tech to the ChiComs....don't you read the news?

Nothing to do with race....just pure and simple theft.

Are you insane?....Seriously?...

Since their units are using stolen software(free downloader...sorry for the pun)....they run the copied hardware....for sale.

Like the CD analogy.

You'd justify anything....

Think so....you're a Canadian and speculating on the US economy?..

The majority of the "debt" that the ChiComs hold is very speculative in nature...

Like many thieves, they gamble their ill-gotten gains away.

They don't care....they'll just steal again.

Like you said....to which I agree...you're certainly entitled to your opinion....

Blinders you claim...

All my VBars are legitimately registered via download certification.....bought from RH and now MikUSA...and no problem.

If I was to sell any of them, the registration to the new owner can be easily done.

Blinders....right....

yes and so is my outdated mini V pro which still sales for 250$
so why would someone buy a mini V now instead of a clone.

now if Mikado had their newly released v-bar cloned I would certainly agree with you.

just like the automotive after- market releases parts for 5 year old models but aren't alowed to do so before then .

I think of this clone as an after market reproduction nothing more or less.

Don't come to the Mikado forum and look to get support for the stolen equipment you are backing. It is just like you stealing someones 5 year old heli....it still does not belong to you. Just because you bought it from a guy who told you it is ok, does not mean it is.
OP please close this thread....

Sorry, No wiggle room here in my book.
Kbar works on stolen intellectual property.
I would never buy or use one.
Nor trust one on a heli spinning 700mm blades at 2K 15 feet from me.

If a vendor shows he cant be trusted, how the heck could you trust the complex electronics fabrication needed to make a reliable unit? What other short cuts were made?

Heck skip that

Its stealing

Nuff said.

It isn't stealing to buy/use a KBar, not exactly. Piracy is the term used to describe the theft of intellectual property.

Piracy is a major problem worldwide, not so much because there are people willing to do the pirating but because there are so many people willing to look the other way and make use of pirated works. It applies to music, software, electronic designs, and countless other types of intellectual invention. In most countries the penalties and enforcement around piracy make it too high risk to do openly, but in China and a few other markets the risk is so minimal that the pirates and counterfeiters are very bold; able to openly market and sell without fear of repercussion.

Anyone looking to justify buying or using pirated works is faced with an ethical dilemma. Unfortunately as we've seen play out with the music and movie industries, many people (especially young people) have very low ethical standards when something stands to benefit them directly. That is why the music and movie industries chose to invest in enforcement and why websites that host pirated works are shut down and individuals who download those works are fined and in some cases imprisoned.

There is no multi-billion dollar a year industry looking out for the makers of RC heli goods, so no mass enforcement efforts will be funded via campaign contributions and the like. Which means we will never be able to counter the pirates and counterfeiters except by appealing to the values of those who might support them.

In this case, we've identified an individual who lacks a strong moral compass. That isn't something we can fix. The best we can do is to judge and treat him/her as someone not meeting the minimum ethical standards of our community.

is an Ikon a rip off msh ?
It is well known that the MSH Brain and Ikon are both licensed versions of the same product. That's plainly obvious if you visit MSH's website. Not to mention you can just ask them and they'll confirm.
gaui's version of the mini v any better !
Gaui contracted with Mikado to have a version of the mini VBar manufactured with their name on it and a slightly tweaked version of the firmware. Plainly obvious if you visit Mikado's website. Not to mention you can just ask them and they'll confirm.
the hobby is already too expensive !! for most.
so it's my choice if I want to support the fat cats or not
That logic is obviously absurd, and I promise you would not agree if the tables were turned and someone was redistributing your work for free or significantly cheaper than you were selling it.
makes me wonder why we pay 200$ more for a name brand.
You don't have to. You are free to use Robird, ZYX, or any number of other systems which are very affordable, or even OpenPilot which is completely free and open. There is no justification that you are forced to pirate because the hobby is too expensive - there are cheap, authorized alternatives available. Just like there is centuries worth of public domain music out there that you can listen to for free without downloading Lady Gaga's latest album from an unauthorized torrent.
prove they did not buy licensing for it then
As shown it's generally not difficult to see when a product has been licensed. But if you really think there's a chance it might be, fire off a quick message to Mikado and ask. The contact form on their website is easy to use.

P.S. Ronald Thomas is VBar service at Mikado USA. He has already made it clear that KBar is not a licensed product.

Truthfully, although I don't condone Kbar's business practice, I truly don't see it ever effecting Mikado's bottom line. Someone who buys the Kbar wouldn't pay the Vbar price, and just wants to see how it works for that price. And someone is a Vbar user, just won't risk a Chinese clone of it.
Forget price, I just wouldn't risk something that has been finely crafted over the years and control's the whole cyclic system on an expensive 700 heli.
Low price's provide some upfront reward, but overtime you'ed pay the price - especially if the manufacturing of the device had reliability issues, which it will.

This helis. are not toys - even though its an expensive hobby, why people buy trash and endanger themselves is beyond me. Its not worth the few hundred dollars saved.

I have over 300 flights on one of my mikado helis. and never a malfunction! Thats why I pay the price. If I buy a cheaper brand, all I'm doing it paying the same money and MORE to model/mod and fix the helicopter.

Well i have 5 genuine V Bars and flown V Bar since V3 also have V Control.

But i have 2 Mini K bars also, many club members do too, hundreds of flights with zero issues.

Also you can use the very latest Setup software from Mikado on them 5.3.4b. This dials home when connected to a Vbar, just disable your wifi or internet connection and it works perfect with Kbar.
