If someone wants a specific brand and you have that one and in mint shape 70% is probally max . The problem is most people that have 80% or more they will buy new unless they are close to seller or know personally . The other side is the seller will loose on fees and shipping making it not worth selling unless they just want to cut their losses and get something else . There are a lot of variables that determin what something is worth . It comes down to two people agreeing on a price and being comfortable with the deal .

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

Waheed, just my opinion, but I have a hard time paying much more than 60% of new price on any used item. I could go a bit higher if it was literally like new/mint but much more and I would tend to just buy new. I would have piece of mind on condition, option to return, and I'm a big fan of getting original packaging/owner's manuals. Again, just my personal opinion.

...Warranty, etc....

I agree, personally I will rarely go more than 60%, except on NIP high end stuff...otherwise I buy new!

Question...

Why put a price on something at all if you are going to tag it with "obo"?

obo means that you don't want that price but something lower.

If it's to establish a starting point, just state what the item costs new and describe it's condition...Then ask for offers.
One of the offers may even be more than that arbitrary number you would have stuck in front of that "obo".

I literally never use the word literally right.

Good point....

"obo" means you're somewhat desperate.

"only reasonable offers considered" means you're not.

"oroc" means no reply needs to be given....to those that obo you

I usually don't even mess with those ads unless the asking price is good enough for me.
If I make an offer, they are going to sit on it and wait for a better one.

I either say I'll take it or move to another ad.

I'm pretty sure you would prefer it worded differently. But to me $130 obo means, I want $130 but am willing to negotiate. If its something I want I would typically offer $125. If its a real good price at $130 I'll jump on it full price. Its a game a lot of us enjoy playing, without being disrespectful.

I actually made an offer once on an add with no price, all it said was make offer. So I did and was called a lowballing lowlife.

So I guess I am the aforementioned lowballer.... And kinda proud of it actually
If you don't like to get offers then put FIRM after your asking price, otherwise it's fair game...

Your opinion of lowball is my opinion of good deal, vs your opinion of fair price is my opinion of your nuts it's used!

Get over it, or don't sell used stuff. Don't take yourself so seriously, you'll live longer.

Just my 2 cents....... For your dime of course..lol

$500 obo....

$300 is not an unreasonable offer. Probably won't win in the first week of listing but a reasonable way to open a dialog.

$200 wouldn't deserve a reply.

The question to ponder or ask is why is someone selling their heli stuff. When it's someone I regularly see on the classified, I figure they just like to horse trade, or they like to dump their crashed sh!t on others so they can go buy new stuff. For these type, I love to negotiate the daylights out of them!. When it's a fellow RR member who has fallen on hard times I won't haggle with them. If I want what they're selling and the price is remotely fair, that's good enough for me to help them out. We can all fall on hard times. Why take advantage of someone who is desperate?
