Yes sir ! An air bubble can be a real problem for a gasser!!
BUT I love gassers!! When running well you never have to "re tune" them day after day ,,just seasonally or extreme altitude change. They require collective management which today seems to be an antiquated term with all the power that is available today in Lipo and nitro. Do not be fooled that any advertised gasser will compete head to head with nitro or especially Lipo. A few are trying to do this. They may post videos that mimic such performance but are performed by pilots that have very good collective management. The power to weight ratio of a gasser cannot compete with nitro or lipo. So why in world would I like a gasser then?
It is an acquired taste,,the weight and grace of flight,,the beauty of big air at the pace the gasser will provide and no more . The reality of the power to weight ratio that you must remain within and execute within it's envelope is a beautiful and graceful thing. Most everything is doable in 3d,,just slower.
I love it.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

Like electric now.....plus, where I fly there's gasser planks that fly forever....lucky to get a flight in....one at a time flying.

I'm tolerated because my flights last only about 5 mins....

Wickedclown have you dailed in a gasser before??
Reason I ask is if there is no one in your area with experience with gassers and you have no experience other than nitro you are in for a very "different experience" than your nitro experience and it will be worth next to nothing in tuning a gasser..Just letting you know!! You could fry the motor just as you thought you had it dialed in!!
thanks for the heads up

everything ive learned about nitro and e i learned from you guys and the internet plus being a bodyman mechanic i think i can handle it.

and what are do i live in

there is a park near me if when i need extra help im sure you know the park im speaking of.

Hey WC,
just wana suggest that you may want to add a cross support between the two boom supports. those aluminum supports tend to start vibrating sometimes.

Also, if you use a V2 muffler, get a muffler support that holds the exhaust end of it to the frame. The long V2 tends to act like a tuning fork and will sometimes vibrate enough to mess with the gyro and some of the internal stingers have been breaking inside. the mount will help keep this from happening.

Lastly if you ever go to a TT upgrade that you use two TT bearings inside the boom instead of just the one that it comes with. The TT with just one bearing support tends to wobble at certin RPMs. This is why they use two with the G30 boom, eventhough its only 3 inches longer.

have fun with it, with the right tune and HS of 1800 you can get an easy 20 minutes out of it per flight

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

Black Fuel Line has Carbon Black in it for the Filler mineral :
Same carbon black that is in your toner cartridge, your car tire, your Oreo Cookie, your Ink Pen even eye shadow and many cosmetic's. The color comes from burn't petro product's that makes it inert - used for coloring and for filler. CARBON - or as WE would say Carbon / Carbon

Have NO Idea How I know this - Just don't ever step in a pile of it when their making it Great stories at gate 72 in Mnpls also - you open that boot bag - you gota put the stuff back in it : You be ALL BLACK I will give you the Wonkey " I told you So " look at your pretty white blouse.

Viton will and does break down - used to sell Lot's of it in specialized O- Ring's and Seal's and very specialized hose -- Uber Expensive " Shocking" . Must be very careful with it around certain petro - or synthetic lubrication product's including hydraulic fluid's in areas for valve body porting / spool's / ect.
Lot of petero distalet's will tear it up FAST !

Viton Tubing is actually pretty rare in Black ?? It actually should be another color. Kinda doubt -a Import would have true Viton

Tygon " DuPont" Is a nearly impervious to Every thing from distillates in petro cracking to Most Acid's and Bases - include some of the very spooky stuff. DuPont got it Right !

Their is a reason that some of the Black tubing swell's up like a gummy worm or fractures after repeated dry out cycles and crumbles after a few year's.

Please use it : To each their Own - It's good for business

Need a GOOD Build Essay in the GASSER SECTION : Welcome !

Grey,

Are you sure you are not thinking of black neoprene tubing (like the stuff DuBro sells) breaking down? I think that stuff does go bad in gas over time, only place Ive used it is in the smoke oil lines on gas planks as it takes the muffler heat better.

Honestly Ive had zero issues with Viton. I use it on the clunk line of both gasser helis and on the clunk line in my DA-50cc gas plane. The thirsty DA has no problem with the smaller diameter either.

If it really was such a problem I would wonder why Zenoah Japan ships it in the kit with each new RC format engine?

The Buno - or Neoprene or even Latex or Vinyl's / or Silicon / Teflon's are easily identified. There are several various compound's or blend's also --why a spec book or ISO standard cert's / or even Mil Spec's classification's are so important when selecting application compatibility. It's important - Gas Not to big a deal - but be sure

Alway's check the roll or the package for the I.D. and Mfg or know whom is trustworthy.

Black Viton used to pretty rare : It should actually have the surface embossed except for the very small stuff. Even on 3/32" thin wall TYgon one should be able to find the trade mark. Might have to unroll 3 feet to get the print but it will say so.

Black has carbon black in it for the filler - White can be Titanium Dioxide or Zinc.

Sorry for the rant but seen some real messes over poor identity or fake being purchased on Price and not REAL. Then a chain of aggravation. follow's. Putting some one else s name on a product - sell it cheap.

Zenoah of Japan is absolutely trustworthy - They hold their standard's TIGHT ! No Monkey Business

Problem with a lot of = in certain applications breaks down - you got to use stuff you can absolutely trust. Lot of kind of real - but really not - imitation stuff. Re- label. You see a lot of quality issues every where now.

Bottom Line : USE what you Trust - Seen alot of Walbor's " New " go into the barrel because your can't get the circuits clean - Goofy gas is a big problem on portable power equipment also. We call it Corn Deposit's Even Fake Walborow's now - Crazy

Like to see Good Success achieved in small step's, for positive result's - Clown will get Hooked
