Has anyone attempted to upgrade their 350 QX v2 with the new 3.0 firmware? I was thinking about trying to upgrade mine and was wondering how it works. Also the Gui program they have for the new version has some cool features.

Well I did the version 3 firmware update on my 350 QX v2 a little while ago. It wasn't very hard, I researched it heavily before attempting since I just purchased it last week from the classified's on this forum, so this is all new to me.
One thing I definitely wanted to know was could I get all 5 of the modes(RTH,Safety,AP,Stability and Agility) to work with my DX6I transmitter. It's possible you just have to program a Mix 2. It does change the RTH mode to your Gear switch 1, but you can switch between all modes using the Gear, ELEV D/R, and the AIL D/R switches.
Planning on doing a flight test this afternoon or tomorrow. I think the version 3 firmware is supposed to have an upgrade to make the GPS signal better and you can also use the new PC interface to check some of the electrical components in the Qaud like your pressure sensor, accelerometer, and a few others and also set boundaries for the distance from home position that it travels.
Hopefully gonna test it soon! Wish me luck

I just bought a 350QX2 AP about a week ago. All new from Horizon Hobby. I did the update and flew it last night for a little bit. I think I like the update because I am using DX4 that comes with it and I can access 5 flight modes now and before I only had 4 with the RTH. You do have to land and flip the mode switch fast 4 time and hold the right stick down at the same time but I can get 5 modes now counting the RTH. It also gives me tilt control of the camera gimbal GB200 by flipping the old return to home switch and then move the throttle stick up and down to tilt the camera. Not sure if it works while in the air but it is supposed to hold elevation while adjusting the camera. I have done it on the ground and it works.

The thing that I don't like with Version 3.0 is the left throttle stick springs back to center so the quad will hold altitude with it centered and go up and down when you move the stick up or down. I should say I like that but I don't like it because it is hard to find center on the stick since mine does not return to center. I am probably going to open it up and see if there is a way I can add a spring to the transmitter stick? But Maybe I wouldn't want it that way because if I ever fly this thing in agility mode it might mess up that mode for me. I don't really have any plans to fly it in that mode though because I just bought it for the camera.

I've been flying with the V3 software for a while and everything seems to work ok. I have noticed occasionally when in smart mode or AP mode that it tends to be a little unstable at times even with good GPS lock, also every now and then it will dart to the right real quick just for a split second and then correct itself. Any one else experience this?
When it comes to doing the calibrations with my dx6i I can get it to do the compass cal by flipping the flight mode switch 4 times but when I try to do the accelerometer cal by holding the bind switch and then flipping the flight mode switch 4 times it won't go into the calibration for the accelerometer just back to the compass calibration. Not sure what's going on, read somewhere that the dual rates need to be at 100% for the cals to work, right now my are set at 70% and 100%.

Hello, I have a 350qx with the v3 upgrade and the gb200 gimbal, could some one explain me how to get the gimbal to tilt using a dx6I, do I use the same 2 wire conector from 350qx to gimbal?
