Gee whiz, its a $29 toy quad copter, what harm is that gonna do and besides there are alot more people out there willing to drop that than spend hundreds just to get into toy helicopters, which by the way is pretty much far more dangerous than a small quad.

Its not the fault of the quads thats the problem, its the fault of the stupid people that do stupid things with them, no less than the people I see flying 700 size helis in their neighborhoods and posting vids online about it. Also, companies like Hobbico ect employ many hardworking people, who have mouths to feed and if they can sell quads like hotcakes out the door to keep profit margin and keep jobs what is wrong with that.

If you want to do something positive about this, start figuring out how to lay the welcome mat out for people who buy toy quads or camera drones but might catch the bug and want to get into our branch of the hobby.

Treating the folks in this upswell like pariahs is not helpful to our hobby, and it certainly isn't what smart people who are in this hobby as a business are going to do.

oops, bounced it!

Because they are not illegal, immoral or un-healthy. Any legal product IS able to advertise itself.

Quads are easy, and just cool enough to grab a lot of throw away cash. $229 is a pretty good price point for FPV.

I'm sorry, I wasn't intending to ruffle any feathers, my point I was attempting to make is that with all the negative ads/media coverage regarding DRONES lately and with the possibility of jeopardizing the R/C Heli community do we need more advertising like this. And yes I understand this may be a stepping stone into R/C Helies for some. But lets face it, how much advertising have you seen regarding small inexpensive r/c helicopters to the general public.

I think that if 3axis stabilization existed when the first mall helis arrived, they would have been the hit of the year.

Dual axis heli are just not that cool. Now the quads can do a lot of the flying for you and the electronics are improved, so it is just timing. The news that you can't do something draws flies to the flame.

I have never seen a RC heli commercial on tv or local advertising for heli's either.

I am willing to bet if IRCHA were advertised on tv the attendance would quadruple

spending time, paying attention

If you are talking inexpensive Heli or quad advertising, how about Air Hogs? Same concept. As far as drones being a problem, it is not the drone, it is some people who fly them.
