Is it the guys over 28 or young kids that do those crazy 3D moves close to the ground that most of us can't relate to?

My point is, the much younger generation seem to be taking over the heli world, I mean most of these kids that fly these new machines seem to have all the time in the world at there hands, so they spend all day playing XBox. I just can't see myself doing the tricks with these machines that the Playstation generation has grasped. I am just not wanting most of the new stuff on the market like yesteryear.

When I first started flying planes my dad helped me pay for parts and such. But he had me doing things around the house to pay him back for it all. There was a couple weekends I did not get to fly because I failed to finish my tasks he gave me. Or I was not doing well in school also stopped my repair funds.

If my son wants to get into the hobby. I will ensure he as the the funds available to advance as long as he does his part. It will def be a give and take relationship.

Seems like everyone that I talk to about this hobby thinks that $500 spent on an aircraft is crazy... $2,500 I could have bought a car for that! They cannot think about crashing.

Well, I think the same thing about boats and racing parts for cars. To each their own! cars and boats crash too!

I don't see high schooler's being able to afford the hobby without a lot of help from parents. Let's face it, flying is expensive.

Well I'm 33 now, last year when 32 started flying helis. Never liked 3d, (admire who can do that). When kid I used to love rc airplanes, don't know how felt into helicopter.

But my goal is scale only. Love it. And spent an absurd amount of money since here things always are more expensive even when importing.

this hobby is not cheap and this is what keeps a lot of kids and adults out
plus the learning more adults can afford rc over the younger people who have no jobs and are still in school

its the older that spend the money and teach the young folks
most of the lucky young folks have parents that make good money so they can
own nice copters.

Insha Allah made in america

Definately not cheap. Ive spent as much on helis in two years as I did on planks in 12 years prior to that.

Add both up and its probably enough to buy a new car, I just dont want to know

I can tell you this 3Dgimble, I run an RC Heli Flight School and I can tell you that this:

Youngster - All about aggressive 3D
30 and older - Sport flight

It's just about mentality and preference. Youngsters like it fast & furious and the older flyers love the smoothness. I noticed this after 314 clients. We do what is to our liking in our mental state of mind at the moment.

I'm a big believer in no repetitions in my flight routine. I actually like both style, I combine both and that usually bridges the gap and become a crowd pleasure for the young & old.

* But never the less.... our gf's and wives will never like any of it!!!

You older guys will have comfort knowing that those young whipper 3D Smackers will not realize that RC Heli's are not Panty Droppers with the Ladies! ...... kakakkaka

Very interesting Mr. Helifantix, I believe that most of the heli manufacturers have almost forgotten that its the crowd over 30 that spend the money in this hobby, not youngsters at the flight line at noon time demos.
