Did someone say my reasons for this change in policy was due to the complexity of the model?
you can't be safe on RR, they are now doing it to Bergen, they never quit

Don't know what the reasons are
maybe for commercial.
I have built stuff way more complicated than our models.
For a company to sell only rtf raises more questions than answers.
I would still end taking it apart to be sure it was done right,
sorry I just don't get it.

if you take it apart most likely it would void the warranty, almost like crashing and then expecting it to be warranted
Give it up Jim you're 1 of the worse for trolling

Let me guess what yours is
The Century Defender, last man standing. I remember when there was an army of Century pilots bearing down on whomever said something not appealing about Century products. They always blamed everyone's failures for not building the product right, the product needing professionals to be built, etc, etc.

After a while the truth came out and everyone who tasted Century helis knew to stay away. That's really it, you're not going to change anyone's mind who has already experienced the product. It is what it is.

...I dont get it, what would Raja have to gain by bashing Century? He is not geting free stuff from another company for doing so, and I'm sure he does not get paid to do so either.

reading you two going at each other over the EXACT same crap over and over everytime there is a post in the Gasser or Century areas is getting old.

Besides if Raja feels like Century is garbage... so be it, thats what he belives based on HIS experience with them.

Gearhead, If you feel that Century is a good brand, then so be it, that is Your personnal experience. Share those and why you belive that. share your success stories with them if thats the case.

Thats the whole point of this forum is to share what we have experienced with a particular brand, type or setup.

But to go back and forth on things like he lied, you lied, thats not true, hes full of it, your full of it BS and so forth I believe is hurting this forum topic.

I post what I have experienced, good and bad, others do as well. but please stop bashing on each other... its pointless, does not bring value to the subject and for all I know may be making others avoid this section because of it.

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

and there you see more of it,

all because

AA) Raja bought a Century Radikal for 50% off

A) Raja had a crash,

B) Raja had a friend order the parts and Raja fixed the heli,

C) then in another flight Raja had a part fail,

D) some one called Century and told Century about the first crash,

E) then Raja asked Century to warranty the heli

F) Century refused to warranty the heli because of the fist crash

G) Raja got mad and has been bashing Century ever since

BTW did I forget to say Raja got the heli for 50% off

honestly, with the Kit price currently at $200, EVERYBODY for the last year or two has been getting them for 50% off the original price...

Perfect! Let's get this squared away one last time
and there you see more of it,
all because
AA) Raja bought a Century Radikal for 50% off
A) Raja had a crash,
B) Raja had a friend order the parts and Raja fixed the heli,
C) then in another flight Raja had a part fail,
D) some one called Century and told Century about the first crash,
E) then Raja asked Century to warranty the heli
F) Century refused to warranty the heli because of the fist crash
G) Raja got mad and has been bashing Century ever since

AA) Yes, Bill Meador offered me a Radikal G20 at 50% off, he wanted me to try one and I took him up on it.

A) Wrong, it wasn't a crash. The heli never left the ground, I had the 1005 model selected instead of the radikal and everything was the same except the ailerons were reversed. I went to take off and she leaned over, I made a correction but it was backwards the blades touched the dirt with the tips and I aborted the takeoff and the heli stayed on the skids. After it spooled down I found that the plastic head on the metal shaft was twisted, I needed that part and a head axle to fix it. That's it.
B) My friend was ordering parts already from Century, so I had him get the part for me so I don't have to pay shipping for $20 worth of parts.
D) No one called Century and told them about a crash, there wasn't any. The heli flew on from that incident for a few more weeks no issues until one day I put on heavy SAB blades to make for better autos and the grips lasted 1 1/2 flights before it exploded in mid air. That same friend was there when it blew up and the main blade flew past us about 9 feet away and hit the bushes behind my truck. We were lucky no-one got hurt, I never experienced blade departing in any heli all thousands of flights except this one.
E) After the heli exploded in mid air for 2 other people, mnicoleau from the carribean somewhere and sparks at the time (the Century rep), Century posted a notice online "STOP Flying the Century Radikal G20 until Further Notice" on Saturday evening. On Monday I called them as I was waiting on their decision (and by the way they NEVER looked at the broken blade grip, I still have it here as a souvenir) and expected that they would warranty out my crash parts ($96 worth not including blades) and they said after several calls, being put on hold, disconnected, etc that they would replace the defective blade grips only. They replaced all of them and made them thicker as I had recommended to Paul at the time comparing my MA plastic grips to the century ones which were only 4.5mm thick and came from the Hawk 30, yes, they put those on the gasser.

F) Century tried to hide behind a theory that the blade grip was damaged in a previous crash, and they said there was 3 crashes by the way not one, and it wasn't even any just a blade touch in the grass that didn't even break blades. Somehow "someone called" and they knew how many crashes I had even when I didn't know I had that many!

G) Yes Century did the wrong thing, saved $96 worth of parts but lost much more in potential customers.

About the $200, by the way, Another Century Dealer told me that Century pays $75 in China to make the Radikal 20. So from $75 to $500 asking price, good deal, even at 50% off at $250 still OK, even at $200 now they are still in the green.

you hit a blade on the ground hard enought to damage the head, that is enough to refuse the warranty !!!

NO ITS NOT
The blade grip was NOT damaged in that incident. I repaired the heli and inspected everything and it was all good. The heli flew with the blades for several weeks after that, I said already. When I put heavier blades on, 163 grams instead of 129, that's when the pulling force was too much for the grips and the bolt pulled through.

It not only happened to me, but to others. Why do you think there was a recall? If I owned a car and the rack and pinion steering was bad breaking free and causing people to crash and die, and I hit a pothole and blew out a tire, replaced the tire, and drove for some time longer before the steering let go and I crashed, you think in court after a recall was issued about the defective rack and pinion the company is going to say, hey, he's exempt, he blew out a tire once before so the whole car is not under warranty any more. Yeah right.

There was a RECALL after Century figured out there wasn't enough MEAT to hold bigger heavier blades in the same grips designed for a Hawk 30 helicopter. That's the reason the company should have taken care of its customers, why save $96 and have an unhappy customer than take care of the crash cost, oh yeah, company cost would have been about $20 maybe if the while kit costs $75, bad decision, but they had to go with what their rep decided (without seeing any parts to investigate properly) to save face.
