I think alot of people are waiting on new gassers promised from TSA and the Agile 7.2 conversion. After MA went down last year, it seems alot of people slowed down. Not only that but Bergen stopped putting together new kits - now only sold as RTF prebuilt, Century is not supporting their crowd -- stuff is many times out of stock for ages, and is concentrating on quads, Airstar is not responding to emails or phone calls in a timely fashion taking a bunch of the players in the gasser world out of the picture.

Carey is working hard on getting stock for the goblin conversion for those who want them, and with KDS as a second offering for their conversion.

Stay tuned and give it some more time, in the meantime its a good time to relax

Sounds like Gasser Hibernation for sure. Let's hope it doesn't continue into the warm months.
Options are getting thin.

Raja, I have to correct you here,

while yes it is true that MA did quit the hobby and not supporting their fans, Century still has kits and replacement parts in stock, yet some replacement parts are out of stock, Century has reported that more parts will be coming

Raja, really, it's old stuff, you should inform people with the truth and not make things up

Do you know when the v2 mufflers are coming in? I have two friends waiting on them since November, there is only one Century dealer left so nowhere else to call to see if any are in stock elsewhere.

Honestly, I think TSA has killed the gasser project for the time being, anybody with any sense can read between the lines based on what Nigel said in the TSA forum, I think they see the market turning towards electrics and multiRotors and dont see the gasser as having a ROI that is acceptable in this market. MA died and no one picked it up, if the WhipGas was as good as we were lead to belive then a small group would have picked it up; but no one has, not even the clone/copy kings of the planet...like someone in China or Japan.

think about it...Align the RC heli giant sees no need to develope thier own gasser...IMHO I belive that they see no money in it.

Leviathan, Helibug and Guai seem to have absorbed the remaining gasser fliers, and century may still have some diehards still out there, but they are not buying new helis from century like they used to. They seem to be keeping what they have cause they can't afford anything new...I know I am. Or just sold them at a severe loss and went back to electric/nitro or shelved them or trashed them. So this issue with Century not stocking parts may have something to do with the idea that people are not buying enough to warrant keeping those items in stock. Parts that sit in inventory is considered a negative ROI until someone buys it.

If a company hopes to bring a new gasser to the hobby its going to need to be (first) price competitive with an electric of the same size RTF wise and (second) perform as good as a nitro of the same size...as sad as that sounds, but its what the average heli guy uses to compare them, fuel prices and support come in third.

If you dont got those three things locked down, your throwing money away.

to prove my point lets look at your favored brand in a RR thread, re-read what your fellow MA Rep said about MA, read about MA's "low Parts Count" and "Back Orders"
I flew for MA until about a year before they were sold. For those watching closely, the seeds of this untimely demise were sown a decade ago.
In the old days of MA, the chief competition in the marketplace came from GMP, Schluter, Hirobo, and a few others. When MA first started, they had more or less two kits, the X-Cell 50 and the 60, and that was all. Stores had parts, and it was relatively easy to secure a kit when you wanted one. Over the next 5-7 years, MA added multiple new kits to the product line, arguably too many. When this happened, the ability to get a given kit when you wanted it fell away, and most dealers at most had a few examples of the product line. The company lacked the liquid cash to be able to do runs of multiple kits and to get them packed and shipped. The customer had to backorder what they wanted. BAD mistake number one..
The issues with parts count with MA models were legendary. Especially in the days of the X-Cell SE's and Pro's, the company had an amazing ability to make what could have easily been a one piece assembly instead be comprised of three pieces. This drove up kit cost, repair cost, and build time. Even as the situation improve
Those of us who flew for MA in the old days used to make a joke about when a product would ship. Answer: "two weeks". It was funny to a point, but it ceased to be amusing to guys who waited for 6 months for a new release having been told "two weeks" for months on end. You cannot do this in today's market.

why is century compared to MA not even a close comparison
maybe compare century to esky would be more appropriate.

BTW, the Century Reps never made up stories about MA as Raja did about Century

and the Century Reps didn't run MA down on the MA page as Raja did on the Century page
