When you can't get your hands on the "real thing" the next best bet is a plastic model. Pick one up and you have all the detail you need.

I did many searches for photos and models. All of the models out there are not accurate at all.

Interesting I've always found them to be pretty accurate but I could be mistaken. Sorry for the "bum steer". Hope you find what your looking for.

For my Cobra I am building, I had some good luck doing a google search for "AH-1W walk around". Got several pages with hundreds of close up pics of the entire aircraft including cockpit. Hopefully that helps.

Kittyhawk 1/48 AH-1Z coming soon, seems fairly accurate.

E820, Raptor G4N, X50F/E, E620, Forza 450, and some planks.

Don,

The model in that link is the closest I have seen so far but still not totaly correct.

Mike, Thanks for the reply.

The W model information seems to be much more abundant than the Z model.

I bought Solidworks a few months ago and taught myself how to make my own parts, it was something I wanted to do for a long time. I watched many hours of youtube videos and there are hundreds of them on just about every feature in Solidworks. Before this I never drew anything in 3D and two months later I made these parts and more. Goes to show you how easy it was to learn and thank god for youtube

The parts are being printed by a service I found on 3dhub and I will post the finished parts when they get here.
