What some people don't understand is everything is cyclical !
Just like in our own lives we move in and out of hobbies .we Change friends,, we move out of your home town then move back !!
I used to fly nitro planes but then went to Helis and a lot of others went to Helis in the eightys around here ,, did that mean planks were dead ??? Nope just a cycle of interest .. most my friends went back to planks or other hobbies and I stayed in Helis and then I stopped for awhile . I did some other interests played in a band and the best amps were made with transistors so people said !! and then it went to the best amps are tubes again ! and then it went to transistors and now it's the boutique tube amps !!! Are transistors finely dead ??? I don't think so ...
Now I'm back into Helis and its a lot of elec this time for me . But I can tell you when a great gasser engine is developed I'm going to one of those . And all this elec crap will be on RR for sale ! And it's getting closer with engines like the GO ENGINE ! And doesn't os make a small gasser ?? Can't recall its name or hear to much about it so it must not be kick ass yet . Just an old guys observations. Have a warm day ! I hate winter

Like I've said before when a company develops a heli engine like the four stroke engines in these modern motorcross bikes that will blow the lid off of the Gasser market !!! You'll have all the power you ever wanted and that will last for 20 minutes

I have been a member of RR for 2700+ days and in the hobby long before then.

The "Death of Nitro" has been a myth all that time.

And it still is.

Yeah but who could have predicted 2700 days ago that electric would become dominant?

ya I started just before 2.4 was available and lipo were just coming out.

the 2.4 I believe is what helped electric become so popular
my cx1 was FM and it would glitch often causing a crash.

Ok that makes sense with the 2.4 helping with glitching. I was out from 1998 till this last yr. I missed a lot. And I'm on a crash ,,, learning curve with all this new technology . But I'm getting there , I couldn't do it without the help of all my RR friends

wow since 98 ! ya you missed the great heli popularity explosion of 2007 - 2009. IMO the hobby has been slowly declining since 2010.

looking more bleek as each year passes.

This forum used to be very very busy about 20 new post/minute so it seemed.
Now were able to see who stayed in and who has left the hobby.

spending time, paying attention
