Quote" I am so lucky that i didn't complete my order for 550sx, the tail without a pin in, with plastics every where in 2015 is very unacceptable"

I think you have done yourself a dis-service. My logo 600sx is as reliable as they come and flies better than pretty much all helis ive owned.Thats why i bought the 690sx.
I acually turned down a team pilot offer from another brand because of how much i liked the logos. I dont want to really fly anything else . And id rather fly what i like.ie plastic mikados

My thread on the vibration issue does not reflect on mikado quality. The 690sx flew awesome, then for no reason a vibe developed , first flight of my next day out. While i store my helis in the garage, my wife or kids could have knocked it when getting to their horse equipment. While i was flying my other helis, my flying buds were having a good look and may have accidentallty jagged the tail. A vibe doesnt develop for no reason, and since it happened between flight id say shes had a knock.

We fly complex machines and sometimes stuff goes wrong. Id hate to think by posting on a forum, requesting help from fellow machine owners, can be
seen as someone saying a product is of bad quality. I have found mikado forum support to be extremely good from team pilots and the like,

Anyway, back on topic. I removed the motor and ran it up in my hand, It was vibration free. Which is good as a new motor isnt cheap.. I usually dont loctite motor shafts into the counter bearing, but i think i might on this one.

Im also starting to think i may have more than 1 slightly bent shaft. It may have started as one bent shaft and the vibe has caused a few others to bend.
I have ordered all new shafts and hubs and will just change the lot out i think.

Thanks for everyones help so far and i will report back

My trex 700dfc is perfect, i fly two packs 12s near every day, I didn't see any issue, my next 550 heli is going to be Goblin , because 550l is a heavy machine.

It's reasonable to want to avoid heavy machines..

Goblin 570 RTF weight: 3216g (assumes 65C 6S 5000mAh)
Logo 550sx RTF weight: 2950g

You got the wrong info somewhere...no heli is lighter than a Logo!

Oh I see now (after reading the rest of the thread).

Jacoub is another Align fanboy trolling the Mikado forum.

Too bad for you that you haven't tried a real QUALITY heli.

I have over 250 maint. free flights on my Logo.
And at one time, I once owned an Align product - needless to say, I didn't have the same experience.

cd5,

The strange mark on the end of your motor shaft that looks like rust is from the motor shaft spinning inside the counter bearing. I had the same issue on my 550sx. In fact, on my 550, it actually ground the shaft down slightly. This was my first Logo and I didn't set up the pinion correctly. On the Logo SX counter bearing assembly, it is important to properly shim between the pinion and counter bearing.

Before starting, make sure there is no extra vertical play in the motor between the can and its mount. If so, adjust that first.

Mount the motor in the airframe close to it's final position. There can be a little gear lash at this point. You'll adjust that once the pinion has been secured.
With the pinion setscrew slightly loose and with the motor bolts fully tightened, you should put some positive (finger) pressure on the pinion towards the counter bearing and tighten the pinion setscrew there. (the pinion will be securely sitting on the shim stack now. ie: if you try pushing the inner race of the counter bearing with the end of a pick or xacto knife, it won't turn without the shaft turning) If the pinion doesn't properly align with the main gear in that position, add or remove pinion shims until it does. Once you have the pinion tighten with the correct number of shims, you can then set motor/main gear spacing.

The slight pressure assures the counter bearing inner race will not slip in regards to the motor shaft. This is how I set up my 690sx and I haven't had any more strange marks on the end of the motor shaft.

Locktite-ing the shaft to the bearing will do the same thing for you to ensure the inner race doesn't slip, but may make disassembly harder, or may lead to wear between the counter bearing outer race and the counter housing???

Just as an fyi, I found the OWB housing was also spinning in the inner race of the main shaft third bearing. This I did use bearing retainer compound on. Once you have done this, you can still remove the "main gear/OWB/third bearing support arm" from the heli as one unit without any problem.

I now own a Logo 550sx, 550se, and 690sx. I'm not going to say Logos are perfect, but I will say they are the easiest build, best flying, and most maintenance free helis I own. I currently have the Logos, as well as MinAir, JR, Hirobo, and Align.

Good luck in tracking down your vibe.

i got to the source of the vibe. Turns out that i bent the bolt that holds the swash follower arm onto the head block. Thats why all my shafts checked out.

During one of my tuning flights i inadvertently increased the pitch more than i meant to. I originally set up for 11 degrees and wanted to try more pitch,. i was at the feild with limited time and i guestimated the amount of pitch i added as i didnt have a pitch gauge. 16 degrees dumb dumb dumb.

Any way, all my fault, problem solved and flies smooth as and is awesome to fly.

So thanx to everyone for there input.
