Wow, don't think the OP intended to start an argument. But, I can see his point of view. Hirobo makes great helis I've owned a few and loved them. I did the same thing he wants to do.....try something different.

I think the Forza 700 is a great option. It has alot of new concepts but some trusty old ones too. Great quality, great build, flies well also. Cheaper than a Gobby....or any of the other models in the tier, but probably the best in terms of quality. Go for it. I hope you enjoy it as much as your Hirobos.

In fairness, him saying he's jumping ship from Hirobo due to stated brand shortcomings and going with a Forza 700 IN THE HIROBO SECTION of RR was inviting a flame war.

I agree that the Forza 700 is one of the most desireable helis on the market. But this isn't the main discussion area. Try going into the Align forum (or any other brand specific forum) and say you're jumping ship because of a shortcoming with the brand, and you'll get a similar response.

The response was inevitable.

That said, the jury is still out but I see no reason why the Forza 700 shouldn't bring a guy happiness.

Aaron29, I see what you mean, but i don't think he meant to say he's "jumping ship" for good. You and I both know Hirobo has their own style of MFG concepts. And even their latest releases boast alot of the old school concepts.

Nothin wrong with trying something else and I willing to bet if Hirobo came up with a new design similar to what's out now, he might go for that one instead.

I think some guys get too sensitive about "their" brands. I see it alot on these forums. Sometimes it's fun to watch; other times it gets pretty nasty. Let's not scare him away by taking things too seriously.

In the end, it's all about the flying experience...not the brand you fly

Well for all those who get that this was supposed to be a "thanks for 14 years", thank you. I never intended for this to go into a flaming session. Seems it went from me, to Hirobo, to ronlund, back to me!

Last year I went from my Viper Coral to an Allison XB2003. I posted on the Viper boat forum that I was stepping out. I had always wanted an Ally and now that I can afford one, I got it. That turned out to be a long thread also. I had a bunch of people wishing me well with the new boat as well as a bunch of people asking me to come back and visit and let them know how the Ally performs. I guess I though I would get the same sort of farewell here.

If people want to say I'm "jumping ship" because they're "outdated" or have "shortcomings" that's ok. (all things I never said) I guess on the internet, everyone knows what's going on in my head better than me. But what I meant to say, if anyone believes me, was; "Farewell and thank you for 14 years of great flying fun."

It sure was fun being a Hirobo guy, and I love their stuff, but they don't make it easy to keep up with the latest and greatest trends/technologies.
Hopefully you can see how people would see this as proclaiming obsolesence and shortcomings and bailing on account of it.

That said, I do wish you well with the Forza. I think you'll like it and JR is right there with Hirobo quality. I don't think it's necessary to be a "Hirobo" guy. I have non-Hirobo birds and they are great!

Sorry for the flame you got in here. But not only is this the internet. It's RR. You gotta have thick skin around here. Opinions are not allowed if they differ from others. LOL. And you drove straight into Hirobo and said your opinion.

Sorry, I see the humor in it. Hopefully you can too.

being from the correct side of the pond
we have a different sence of humour to the wrong side of the pond
when we exchange words on differing brands it is mostly only banter

i fly many brands, but the one that i can easily get parts for is not a favourite brand of mine
i call it the disposable heli (or worse)as if it crashes i'm not worried about it
and i give the heli a good thrashing but it gets its own back by wearing out or braking parts (before i crash it)

the hobby is all about having fun
you don't need to be wished well with a jr heli as it will serve you well

but do let us lot know how good the forza is

Well LiveToDrive76,

Which ever camp you choose next, welcome!

If it's JR, I think you'll be very happy with the Forza. JR has done a great job so far reestablishing their relevance with their Forza line. Forza600?, 500?, 700N anyone one?

Personally, I think JR could do big things if they decide to expand the Forza line up.

If we are in helis then we must be all rich , i guess you have to have some disposable income to afford any hobby of any kind.

Well, looks like while you guys were bickering, someone updated Ron Lund, since his site now has accurate information regarding Hirobo, VNC, and Jeff, and a statement that he will again stock it if/when full US distribution is in place.

Wow, i received the new Eagle last night and opened the box, very impressive material for sure, did not experience that before. Extremely high quality even the canopy. This will be my first Hirobo experience ever. The kit accepts up to 760 mm blades. Would a pyro 700 be a good choice for it or something stronger? I do sport flying mixed with soft 3D, i know the machine is mostly F3C in design.
