Funky Hughes 500E window attachment question
I got a Funkey Hughes 500E 50 size fuse for christmas and have a question about the window attachment. First what do most of you use for glueing it in place? second, I see the top windshield is in one piece, do you install it that way or do you cut it in to 4 pieces and attach separately?

Thank you for your help.

Glue..
I like to use RC 56 canopy glue (lhs)
It is used to attach airplane canopies..
It is a white glue but it dries clear..
Not sure about your window question, but I am sure someone will have that info for you.. you can PM copterdoctor here. He has a lot of experience with Century..

window attachment method
This is one way that has worked ok for me. I also did door windows - not necessarily the best scale look, but for stand off scale its fine

Top front screen left in one piece.

They are 1mm x 3mm self tapping pan head screws.

Same Stuff
JUSRAP has the proper name for the glue I suggested!!!!
The name I gave is before it was a Pacer product...it does the jjob nicely!!
Small screws can be used also for more scale looking install..
These can be found at Micro Fastner or RTL... for a proper look, you would have to use #0 x ? , and they are very tiny and I would use some of the glue along with them!!!
The last heli I did with these (a bit larger!!) had about 800 screws to secure the glass panels..
Just depends on how "scale" you want to make it look!!

Good Luck

Hi:

I also used screws to attach the upper and lower canopy for my 50 size TOW Defender. I think it was about 58 for the lower and 167 for the upper. That didn't include the ones for the panel lines, which brought it up to about 210. The small windows used smaller screws and they took 92 each. I used the screws that are in the Blade mCX screw kit and I bought a large number of those kits as they had 4 or 5 different sizes and styles in each pack.

More recently, I used Formula 560 to install the glass in my 30 size Jet Ranger and it was easy to apply and gave lots of time to position and set them in place. Take your time and any method will look great.
