Mark It Sold!
It would be nice if a veteran seller would explain here the proper way to mark a sale item as "sold" so as to move the ad to the SOLD subsection.

Some do go to the trouble of editing the verbage of the ad to mark it as sold, but it remains in the active sale section.

If you've ever perused the classifieds, and I have on occasion, then you know the waste of time and frustration involved.

To have the classifieds we have here and the amazing transactions that are possible because of them, is a privilege. Respect for the system should be the cost of that privilege.

Couldn't agree more. Well said Wayne. I recently waited 3 days for a PM reply to say "sorry sold."

If you click edit, the system forces you to make a decision...

I agree 100%!
Simple as going to your original post, edit, click "Sold" tab and POOF ! its mark and placed as sold and removed from the main threads!
Another great thing to do is for those who buy and receive their products , to come back and update the sellers feedback.

Exactly what I was going to say, or just simply acknowledge to the seller
you received and all is well with it. Just so the seller can consider the
transaction closed. Waaay too many times this does not happen and left
in limbo.......yes, the tracking says it is delivered, but want to hear it
from the buyer.

Very important concept here.
Respect for this cool system.
Respect for everyone involved.

I love the classifieds. Most of my favorite toys came from them.

Most seem not to. But those who sell a lot always do. They understand the importance. It frustrates me when I take the time to leave feedback and the other party does not.

Yep...feedback is very important to most potential buyers, myself included.

Too bad some, otherwise excellent, sellers and buyers don't care enough about others to update their posts, and leave feedback.

Very important.

I've always been a buyer. That is the main reason I couldn't explain the proper way to edit a sale post. As a buyer only, the comfort level of someone I initiate a transaction with depends heavily on my feedback history. I've always done my best to give feedback on each purchase as soon as possible. I receive feedback as a buyer about half the time even when I politely ask.
I've been around a while now and that would seem to make it o.k. to skip the feedback. For someone new here, feedback in their first transactions is very important. It gives credibility for those who deserve it and gives a hint of their personality. The same goes for bad feedback. The way someone conducts themself as a customer is a clue to their personality and future as a seller and member of this community. Good manners and respect for everyone involved will speak volumes about a person.

Very true Wayne!

I have also been, primarily, a buyer, sold a couple of minor items.

After one has been around here awhile, you know pretty much who can be trusted...feedback or not.

YEP, a real putoff...I'll probably not buy from that person in the future, just out of principal.

Wayne, I was probably exaggerating a bit and being overly negative by saying Most don't. However, I have bought and sold quite a bit over the past 2 years now and I would say it is maybe 1 out of 4 or 5 transactions (my experience anyway) that the other party will leave feedback without being asked to do so. There has been a few occasions when I have asked them if they wouldn't mind leaving feedback. I honestly feel awkward doing so and tend to just let it go if they decide not to leave any. What has also surprised me in the past is how many people actually do not know how to leave feedback.
