It all depends on what you want. If you want the latest in technology and a newer radio then getting the xg14 is the way to go. It also depends on if your flybarless system you have will accept the xbus system. If it does then that is a plus. I do like the feel better. I do think the protocol is better. The down side is the cost is a little more to buy and then you have to change receivers. That is an added cost also. I made the same change at one time and it does cost to do it but I feel in what the benefits were that we made the right decision. We as in me and my kid by the way. I am not into telemetry so that part does not interest me much. All I like about the telemetry is the battery voltage of the receiver. I could care less about voices talking to me so that is an option that for me is worthless. I am not saying that is worthless for everyone tho. A lot of ppl like that and that is ok. The voice feature is not on the xg14. The gimbals on the xg14 are really nice and the precision of them are second to none. Very smooth and precise. That is a benefit of the xg14. Another nice thing is they are coming out with a satelliteless receiver and I think that will be another nice feature. All you can do is research them and figure out which way is best for you. There is nobody here including me that can tell you for sure which way to go is best for you. All I did was give you what my experience with it is and hopefully it helps you make your decision a good one either way. Good luckTeam Jr

Well then if you run the tags I would definetly go that way. Much cleaner setup and more options for setting the fbl. Good luckTeam Jr

To keep it short and sweet, I have been using both transmitters this season and like the XG14 best!
DX9 easiest to program and will bind to Horizon BNF stuff.
XG14 higher Quality and five more channels! (I do planes also.)
Blades; what goes around, comes around!
