Chet,

Stick a diode in the feed to that 9254.
OK, will do!
What diode should I use?
I just thought I remembered reading that the 9650's, and the 9254, would be OK on 6V.

Also, it's on my little beater Logo 400, so no big deal if it goes in AGAIN.
I'm not really the rebel Jack makes me out to be...

OK maybe I am.

That little gem from Align works well.

The Futaba 9254 is good up to 5.8VDC as long as that is a regulated voltage.

For my flight modes I use the left side three position switch which is my flap switch when I fly planes. Hope I didn't learn the wrong way if they should be on the right.

If you use the Align diode remove the heatshrink and check the soldering. One I saw a while back had a simply horrible cold solder bridge for a joint that could have caused a crash in very short order.

Did some checking, it does appear the Flap switch - a 3 position toggle switch with a long handle above the left stick - becomes the flight mode switch in heli mode when the flight mode stuff is enabled.-----

So I just picked up an AR7200BX from a member here and have everything I need now to equip a Flybarless heli. Still trying to decide if I should convert the Raptor or buy another airframe. Not seeing the TT head anywhere in stock and no affordable x50 's unfortunately either. I am considering possibly looking at a used trex600 but know nothing about them. Possibly the Chas 600 also. Not trying to start a brand debate here or anything just curious if there are any opinions of the best route for a new person to FBL.

You should be able to pick up a suitable flybarless head that will fit your Raptor. The only other real trick is finding pushrods of appropriate length that go from the swash up to the pitch links on the grips.-----

So I now have an AR7200BX installed in my Raptor 50 with a Flybarless conversion. I did a complete model reset in my TX as directed in the manual prior to setup. Also, absolutely no dual rate or expo, or curves of any kind. The programming went smoothly and all seems to work well. My question is- now that I have everything set and ready to test fly can I use dual rates and expo or will that confuse the flybarlesss controller?

DR/EXP
If you used one of the preset programs, you cannot add either (and you shouldn't need them) .. now if you set up for user defined, you can use both without problems..
Sounds like your about to hae some fun!!
Good luck...

Thank you Stan, yes I did select a preset program so I will leave the dual rate and expo at 0. I'm nervous now- I've never flown without these functions!

Nervous....
If you selected the sport setting, you will be fine.. it adds the rate and expo... you should have no problem with it,..
Later if you would like to dial it in more to your liking, just go in and set it to user defined.. with this I usually start at 75% DR with 25-30 expo on the elev and ail... 80% with 20% on the tail.. then add or take off to your liking...
Being able to dial in the feel without your laptop is why I liked using these..
I now use the new JR equipment, and you can use the D/r and Expo as you like on the TAGS units...

Let us know how it goes for you... Stan

Thanks Stan, I usually start with similar values as well. Is there a chart or specs somewhere showing what each individual program's values in their areas are?

No Charts.,
None that I know of anyway...
To me the sport setting is a bit softer then my normal starting values, so you should be in good shape..
