Can I Convert my Raptor 50 Titan SE to Flybarless?
If so, what parts/electronics are needed? I have never had a Flybarless helicopter and would like to try one. I have been looking at used trex ' s and the like but I love my Raptors and own several. ..

Yes, use the TT #3926 FBL Conversion kit and any FBL system of your choice.

Thank you sir! I didn't know it would be that simple. I am having trouble finding any place with that kit in stock. Any suggestions?

They've been around about four years, so they've made it past the 2 year mark.

I would also change out the collective servo to one with a metal output spline if you don't have thus already. I sheared a plastic splined servo on my FBL raptor once

It is difficult for me to decide where is going to be the FBL unit...

The old frame was not design por FBL unit...

I used the full size Vbar unit so the installation was very similar to the original gyro setup (sensor mounted where the old gyro sensor was and the control box mounted up front with the receiver).

I used an RJX head on mine. The head sold for the Align 600 works well on the Raptor as well

Same here, I used an RJX to convert my old R50. Cheap and tough as nails.
After owning a TT X50 FBL I learned to dislike/hate the TT FBL head, which is the same that TT offers for the R50 conversion. It is embarrassingly sloppy, and weak. The smallest hit will bent everything on the TT head.

Thank you guys for the input. I'm undecided at this point as to what to do. Convert the Raptor or pick up a used FBL airframe of another manufacturer?.. I really want to try this modern technology

You will be very surprised, I have a 50t I changed over to fbl a while back, it flies great. I crashed it on christmas, I was flying close to dark and it was far out, I could not tell if it was inverted or not , well it was I hammed on the collective positive side, I seen it shoot to the ground, so I hammered full negative and slowed it down before impact but I was out of room, so I hit th, th also kills my engine. So I walk up, it has on outrage head on it. It broke one of the main grips control arm off, sheared the links and bent the main shaft, the blades were trash of course but that was all. Luckily the ground was very wet.boom and everything else was golden, it did have about 2 in of mud all over the air frameBrandon

I have metal gear, fast servos, my fbl controller is ar7200bx. I have swapped out my plastic tail case that always seemed to crack for one off of an x50e, so it has the one piece metal belt drive tail case on it. It flies like its on rails, and is powered by os50hz with mp5 pipe, gv1 gov. It can do any move I can throw at it with ease, its fun and cheap to crash. I have a trex 700 n and a 700e, an x 50n and x 50 e, raptor 90 3d, also a velocity 50 n1. The old 50 and velocity 50 I always take to fly.Brandon

Yes you can.
I have used the Thunder Tiger FBL head conversion and I like it.
Santiago P doesn't like it, but mine have held up perfectly in crashes.
I have not had to replace one single part in three crashes.

TT #3926 FBL Conversion kit Is my recommendation.

Jack, I also like your idea of picking up another dedicated FBL airframe and going from there. My SE flies so well on flybar that I keep it ready to fly at all times. Flybarless is cool, but sometimes the simplicity and utter dependability of the old school Titan SE is priceless. Find a good used X50 fbl and you will be amazed. There will be parts available somewhere for a long time. That is what I'm betting on myself.
My 2 cents.

I agree Wayne. I am currently keeping a watch on the classifieds for an affordable airframe. I have everything else I need except the flybarlesss controller and blades. (Got quite a few sets of flybar blades)
