I love nitro because most engine related problems are usually simple to diagnose and correct. As long as you have the triad (fuel, fire, air), most engines will run reliably for years.

Your issue is likely similiar. The issue I had turned about to be a simple dirty fuel filter. Nitro fuel seems to attract fuzzies in the air that you don't notice until your filter catches it. When that filter gets full, engines do all kinds of weird stuff. This may be another part to check for cleanliness if you haven't already.

Ran fine on 15% before. I think I was lean in the summer time due to the aforementioned problems, and it got worse in the cold. Plug was the first thing I tried, didn't help. I'll know more today when I get to bang on it at the field, but yesterday was promising.E820, Raptor G4N, X50F/E, E620, Forza 450, and some planks.

That may be true, but 30% is still worth a shot. If you are not strapped for cash I'd give a quart of 30% a shot...you never know until you try, especially if nothing else fixed the problem.

I figured as much...

For what it's worth I started to have tail issues a few months ago. Tail would go out on hard collective and would kick once in awhile. It would get worse with each flight of the day. I finally tracked it down to the rx battery, an old Outrage 2500mah 2s lipo with over 150 ohm internal resistance. Got a new pack and problem solved. It got a lot of flights out of that old battery, bought it in 09. Another thing that can happen is the rear bearing starts to go and induces wierdness. I've replaced rear bearings that looked okay but the engine ran much better after replacement. Doesn't take much. I just did a bearing, new ring and cylinder hone job on my 55hz, it's been 3 years. It has much better power now.
