Low energy costs are a good thing. For everyone. Period.

Economists are jelly eating lemurs that sit in cubicles all day creating graphs that do nothing but prove their own theories right. Ego trip to the max.

The Saudis are trying to put shale oil fracking out of business.

They're deal is that oil will never be above $50/bbl.

So...price at the pump here...will be <$1.50...

That this is a bad thing...means that our politicians are screwing us in another fashion.

And these scum....depend upon your ignorance....

Yep now our land and water tables will remain free from yet another contamination source for a generation or two longer.

Horrible...absolutely unexcusable.

The Saudis know we will have no interest in the Middle East once we are totally independent of import oil.

They miscalculated what the higher price of oil would do. Because of this higher price, we were forced to search for the hidden oil.

I think they are again misjudging the outcome of this. We know we can abandon them. The Saudis biggest employer is their own government..there is no future in that.

Well. Once negative impact of cheap oil is going to be less R&D in alternative energies.

So, fuel cells, lipos, all the technology we want to come along will be delayed.

Fact is, our Lipos are as awesome as they are because of research and development in that area as an alternative energy. So our hobby even could suffer.

With this low cost gas, green energy will look less necessary and less lucrative. Leaving it by the wayside. For now.

I would have liked to have seen us become independent of oil altogether. But this will mean we are hooked that much longer.

We was about to kick that expensive crack habit, but the dealer halved his price. So it's back on the pipe.

Prohibition and prohibition pricing never stopped anything. That was a jELLy shell game.

Don't the oil companies own all those alternative energy patents ?

I already addressed this. It will not be seen as necessary or lucrative and R&D will slow down.

Doesn't matter who owns the patents. If the market has $1.50 gas and I have an alternative that is more expensive, I have nothing I can really sell.

Very little "green energy exists"
If you take the time to calculate what it takes to manufacture A "green product "from Earth back to earth , like an electric car for one example, Most of it is more harmful or far more expensive with harmful resources than the use of a simple internal combustion engine.
Who realy knows what's right or wrong all of our thoughts are skewed by our perceptions .
