Do I dare say...... It's lonely at the top lol I'm not even close to being qualified to compare and contrast the differences here but I do know I would be happy with my align helicopters if they were american made. Just thought I would add that

The only thing I hate about Align is they don't sell a bare bones airframe. My 450 SEV2 has been great, too bad it is finally going away after all these years of enjoyment.

Align don't have to do that with all these copy kat here and there.
70% of the barebone clown are all Align.

Align kinda Screw them up in 2012 13 14, by making theirs model hard to copy.
by Adding plastic to the CARBON and cast iron main shaft with special collar.

Didn't Align used to make vacuum cleaners?

Maybe that's why some people think they suck.
Isn't that what they are supposed to do??????

Yep, but I guess they're vacuum cleaners didn't suck enough...

So they switched to RC helis...

And now, some are convinced they are sucking better.

Its not really cast iron but similar fashion to toughen it up making the
main shaft harder to bend on certain impact.

like B4 almost all crash on the model would end with a bend main shaft. "I remember one point they ran out of main shaft during the days of the
450 v2.

Many pilot i know use to think that Align made the part easy to broke to
keep them cash coming.

"I can tell you the model is 20% tougher today than 10 year ago.

Align has done this hobby a great deal of good I think. Yeah, they are not the best, but they are pretty darn good. Low prices on their kits and parts are a plus and not to mention parts are available almost anywhere. I would feel a lot better about them if they were an American manufacturer though!. But it is what it is I guess. People naturally have a love-hate relation with them. Lets face it and like it or not, they are a dominant company and they are probably the largest RC heli manufacturer to ever hit the planet. So I think it is just a persons natural instinct to not like them and want to bring them down. Its kind of the way people feel about Microsoft`s dominance.

Walmart dominates retail outlets.
Walmart has many detractors.
They've done lots of good but destroyed many good outlets in their march to dominance. They have re-written the book just like Align has.
Buy what you want, where you want, and enjoy.
Don't expect anything to last forever.
People (me for sure) get tired of whiners.

I agree with that. Fly what you want. I just feel with the improvements that Align has made it has shown it there new helis and even with improvements to the old ones.

Trying not to put them in the dirt.

Go to a fun fly and see how many Align helicopters there are verses all the others brands combined. Also checkout how many pilots with more than one helicopter have at least one Align helicopter they are flying? From what I’ve seen I’d say over 80% are Align’s.
Not anymore, and not around here in the mid West.
Walking around IRCHA this year, I noticed many other brands bigger presence than Align. The same at my fun fly. In fact at my funfly almost every brand was represented in even even numbers from Thunder Tiger to German imports.

We still have folks (in my area) that own at least one Align machine, but most have moved on to what IN THEIR EDUCATED OPINION is BETTER FOR THEM. We don't hate the brand, but for their fans to insist is the best is simply narrow minded. Not sharing their opinion does not make me a hater.

Fly what you love, have fun.
