I used to have two 450Xs as my beaters... One as a backup whenever the other one went down. However as my skills progress I am finding that there are limitations to the 450X... Motor bogs on tougher and/or ham fisted maneuvers.

I have since sold the 450Xs and am now using the Gaui X3 as my beater. I am happy with this one... It flies similar to my bigger helis and is unboggable.

I think for me it will be my logo 550sx, I can throw anything at it and it will just take it without byting me back. Now a old blade 500x that I got bytes a few days after if I push it tooooo hard, so I can't beat it like I would want to.

I like my blade 300x and helimax 400 that I converted to FBL. If I put one in the dirt I can have it going again in a day or two if I have the parts. The batteries are reasonable and if I have limited time I can just grab one and take off to the field.

I'm gonna have to go Raptor 30/50. Not anymore, but in the day, they could be crashed and easily fixed for cheap. I haven't tried a Rex 600, but I imagine that takes the spot these days.

For price and parts availability, if those things are important to you, it would be hard to beat Align today.

I don't mind waiting for parts, because I always have something else to fly while I wait.

Concept 30. I crashed it 3 times in one day, and I had it being held together by rubber bands, and it was still flying...

My beater heli was a Walkera 4g6. I never flew it,,I just kept throwing it across the room if it got in my way.
Can't say it was my favorite either....

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

To date, My E700. I put it in hard, and thought it would be a re-kit, instead, it cost me about $180 to repair(not counting the canopy, as I already had a spare). Main and spindle shafts didn't even need replacing.

I am serious.....and don't call me Shirley.

Right now I would have to say my DT520v2. Part / crash cost is close to a 450 but flys way better.
