I am wondering if some here know what a beater is ?

Its an Heli you don't give a ....t about, same one got left
in the back yard after some hard core stunt testing.

I think I will have a beater but it have to be given to me.

I was waiting on some honey but there aren't no Queen bee,

the one you don't mind dirt knapping every so often, the one you have accepted the continual repair time with, and the one you aren't afraid to try a new trick on? that's the one that's still flying.

For instance, I really dig on my 300zyx no longer a true Blade product because I've modded it with really inexpensive 450 parts which cost half or less what Blade parts cost to replace, (not the problem). The 300 has a dying servo and has gone sideways a few times recently. fly--sideways--fix, fly--sideways-fix, it goes into the ground from a few feet up netting bent things and broken blades, not a half minute into lift off, MY BAD. So's I fix a few more things last night and think it's gonna be ok to fly this morning, nope. I discover all the main bearing area chassis screws are loose, from about the time I got the thing they've never been checked. Fix all that and take the heli outside backyard and been a week or more since last let loose, I can flick it around with less worry than 450 or larger there. It developed some nasty head oscillation at upper rpm from the loose frames and bearings, all fixed this morn.

Not a second into the air and as always the servo that's bad causes the 300zyx to 3d flip and go sideways ten feet off the ground without it moving forward, backward, up or down,,,,,, bam, throttle hold and she comes down onto grass. One blade makes a pretty nice slash in the mud soft grass and dirt and heli hits the tail first, whew, nothing bent 'cept the main shaft. Call a bro for another servo after spooling the heli enough (slow rpm) to cause the faulty servo to go wonky from small vibes, he doesn't have one. Heli will have to wait, again. Meantime a minute with the 450 cutting very close to branches and trees everywhere around the yard and my object avoidance techniques are paying off. I did fly the 300 into an apple tree in the yard more than a few times, I knew it might do that if I zoom around real fast late in the evening when light is fading fast.

beat that,,,,,,,,,,,,, I'm not going to fly bigger helis until I can afford to repair them, beater, a 700? what do you think? A 550 might work as that.

But that doesn't make it a beater tho Almost everyone here crash at some
appointed time and it their classic birds.

I believe this guy sum it up the right way}
the one you don't mind dirt knapping every so often, the one you have accepted the continual repair time with, and the one you aren't afraid to try a new trick on
That birds hasn't reach a defining moment in it quest for the crash/Repair title.

That what a beater is

Mine was a used Trex 550v2. I could throw that puppy around like a red headed step child and it didn't bother me a bit. I finally sold her to help with a G570 build. I do miss her sometimes.

I recently purchased a used Gaui x3 with the same intentions. I need to learn a few new moves so this little bird will be the test dummy

My beater definition= A heli that you are willing to fly as hard as you can for the entire pack without fear of mechanical failure. I would have to say the Logo 400SE. That has the best tail of any of my helis EVER.

I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D.

In all honesty, thats mine too. Its always reliable. I bought it as a logo 10 with carbon frames from futura se years ago, and upgraded it to mod1, and a 500fbl head, and its always the go to bird.

You use a logo 400 as beater ? this one of the most fragile heli
of them all. kinda cheap anyway but when Add up all that part you money will be well spent you're in for a major repair every time
each crash.

Esco, again my definition of a beater is a Heli that will not quit due to failure. IMO the Logo is unbeatable in this regard. If your definition of a beater is a Heli that is cheap then a clone would be better.

I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D.
