If anyone knows how to contact the people that Mark Spies mentioned in his post above, the info would be appreciated...
This kind of material really comes in handy on a project like this one..

Thanks Stan

Gonna be fun to watch. Since it's going to be so cold this winter, you won't be distracted by the whole flying thing.
Ditto on the paint booth! You could rent it out to your less fortunate fellow flyers. (Notice the alliteration Mr. Rockfish)

Lot's Of Help!!!
Thanks everyone for the help finding more doc's for this project....all appreciated.

Now, for that tenor guy.... just might need to build an addition onto the shop to use as a spray booth... that would be a great addition!!!

And you know that I would gladly share it with my "buddies"!!!!

Guess I need to make some more progress on this guy soon!!!!

Should have more pic's up by the end of the week.. got some more goodies to add to it!!!!

Thanks, Stan

On Site??
First, Bob, thanks for the link..some great detail pics...they all help!!

Deanguy, the website is under construction, but the H-34 is available if someone is looking for one... for now, just give Darrell a call for details. You are so right about the white one.
It is amazing and cannot wait to see it on the air.. if docs had been available that would have been the one that I would have had to do...the white just pops, on the ground and I know it will in the air...
I think there might be a sneak preview of the latest variant coming soon!'!

Thanks all.. Stan

Barry, you're one nose closer to the Mimie. I saw the new nose for the Wessex, so the S-58T is not too far away. I don't know what, if any, changes to the rest of the helicopter are required. I might spend a bit of time looking at some pictures to see what I can find out. Take care.

Don: Yeah, Darrell said he'll start on the S58T nose version after he's finished the Wessex variant. I'm really looking forward to it. I have to design and machine custom LG for it, because the Mimi has a control arm and strut style LG, not swing arm.

Stan: What's the gear ratio on this beast?

Gear Ratio...
With these mechanics, you can come up with about anything you need (within reason), for both the main and tail drives...
I am running a Scopion 5035-380 in this guy, and it will have a max rpm of 1000, at this point...but can just switch the main pully if more or less is needed for tjhe best efficency..
Very well thought and laid out..
I made some good progress yesterday, amd will add some pics lster today!

Thanks, Stan

Thanks bud, I'll give Darrell a shout and find out what ratios are available. I have a couple of motors at home that might work in this heli. Looking forward to the next round of pics.

What a super project. I wonder why it falls down to individuals to model yester year helicopters and not some of the commercial manufacturers? The same old helicopters get trotted out on a regular basis there seems to be no imagination or desire to produce earlier types such as Doorman is doing with his Sikorsky. Is it commercially not viable? Is there no interest in the heli fraternity for something different? I wish Doorman every success with his project and the thought of a Wessex is just icing on the cake. I would certainly line up for one if Doorman ever chose to produce them. Well done!

Actually Chris, it is a commercial product that is in the process of coming to market. As titled, the helicopter is produced by Unique Aircraft out of Dalton, Georgia. Keep your eyes open for a few items from them, including some planks that might come to market. Hope this helps.
