My E550 is my first electric, and I would like to put a scale fuse on it this winter. I'm looking for advice on something that will be a good fit. I know plug & play is a bad choice of words but its a belt T/R so boom needs to work. battery tray is on the bottom of frame, so the nose needs to slide off easily. I love 500D, 109, Jet Ranger, 135 etc. any advice would be great.
Thank
T

I have my E550 in the TT Koala fuse. Apart from stretching it to the longer boom, there were no mods. I also have the TT md500 fuse that I am going to swap the mechs over to. Removing the batt from the Koala to charge is a little pain. while the mechs are out, I am going to cut the doors so they will open to make battery change out easier.I think you will have no problems adapting the TT E550 mechanics to fit most fuses out there.

it's better to ask for forgiveness than for permission

The only thing that may be an issue is if you put it in a heli with a raised tail (huey). But there are drop down tail drive kits out there. I think Joe at East Coast Scale Helis has them. I also wouldn't be so concerned regarding the use of the E550 battery tray at this point, as you may end up moving the lipos around for better CG.

All helis and planes have an expiration date stamped on them...you only find it after you crash!!
