Does anyone know where or if parts are available for the body of the Hirobo UH1? I just picked one up and it is missing a few items. also is there someone running other mechs than the s30 stuff?

Thanks,
Lou

You can try contacting VRC hobbies. That's Jeff Greeen's project. As far as mechanic go, some of the smaller framed machines may fit in there with consideration as to weather or not you're going to make it nitro or electric. You'll need the skillz to deal with the gearbox as well. Electric is the way to go.

Drive cable housed in a Teflon sleeve with brass tubing formed up through the vert stab is hard to beat. Tie the tail rotor hub to that n that's that.

Another thing I was interested in was setting up a direct drive motor for the tail. I have been out of the heli loop for the past 6 years and the other day I ran across some info on this. I am also searching for some good sites on elec motor, batteries, speed controllers information selection.

You know stuff for the total noob

I did run across a site rchelicopterfun that has some good reading on lipo batteries, much needed information.

The direct drive motor concept is something to consider when using really small mechanics of the micro variety. IMHO it's just more electrical that can fail; which is a possibility with anything anyway, so why add to the chain? At least you'll know the driveline is connected all the time and that's that.
