While my goal with every new model is to try and ensure nobody gets left out of the party (as much as possible), unfortunately, with respect to the new frames, they won't work for the original Pantera unless you also get the new removable bearing block (located above the engine where the molded-in one was in the old design). Otherwise, yes, everything from the new Pantera P6 retrofits to the old Pantera 50 so go ahead without fear about buying a pig in a poke, e.g. buying an orphan, because I have your back.

With respect to what changed, the frames (as mentioned above), as well as part of the elevator linkage are updated. Also, the swashplate was revised, and the entire tail case is new. There are new landing gear struts, plus some minor mechanical refinements to things like the autohub. Add to this, the canopy and windscreen are all brand new and thus, these bits conveniently retrofit to the old Pantera as needed.

How long will I continue to support Pantera 50 owners? I don't know but considering I'm still keeping Tiger 50 owners flying, I think it's a fair bet I'll be around quite while. Especially when you realize I stopped producing that helicopter about 8 years ago! Heck, I not only think that's pretty good but rather doubt you'll find anther manufacturer standing behind their product for as long as I have. Especially now that MinAir has gone out of business! Why do I bother? Largely because I've always held a helicopter could be made of gold but without good spare parts support it wouldn't be worth a pound of salt!

However, in part it's because the Tiger 50 continues to soldier on for quite a few owners. Thus, I feel a sense of responsibility because I'm grateful to all the folks who took a chance on us - an unknown company back then - by stepping up to got one, which ensured our very survival. Also, in part it's because of how very proud I am of my old Tiger 50 and since I've supported them so long, I believe it's reasonable to expect us to support Pantera owners for quite a while also . . . so have no fear.

Last thing, since you're going to be equipping it, eyeball the servos on our website. These are our most recent product offering and I am very proud of them.

Website pops right up. So John, is AUDACITY STILL AROUND? Is the website current and usable? Still have a pair of Tigers sitting around for flying fun.

Well sure we're around!

Moreover, since the days of the Tiger 50, which you own, we first updated our helicopter offering to the Tiger 50 Mk II.. Subsequently, the Pantera 50 then the Pantera P6. Today, in addition to the P6 we've expanded the product line to include the P6e and P7e (electric models), the P6nex (91-powered beast) plus others.

Add to it, in addition to the conventional flybar head, we offer a flybarless head (2-blades), plus the Quattro (our exclusive 4-blade rotor head). And in many cases, parts are backward compatible to your old Tiger 50 (try buying parts for the many, many models of the other manufacturers once they pass out of production).

On top of all this, we can now offer you our ProModeler servos, ESCs, and motors so you may complete a package. And, quite frankly, it's all because of two things. First, the guys like you who entrusted us by investing your confidence in us (e.g. by buying our product in the first place). And second, because we've continually invested our profits back into our product (improving and expanding our lineup). This has been a two-way street because if it's not obvious the second couldn't happen without you, the first.

Meanwhile, one thing hasn't changed; while we've grown, we're still small enough to know you and big enough to serve you. And please note, you've asked this on a Sunday morning (just before we leave for church) and have received a response.

Thanks for the answer
Off to the church of the immaculate helicopter this morning too.
Still flying? The full size stuff? I've flown your Pantera , was just poking around and was curious if your company was still active, Even used some of the pink blades. Glad to hear things are progressing and will keep you in mind for a possible new project the new little .56 GO ENGINE gasser engine.

I've been looking for an American based co. to save with some of the shipping and delay hassles. I did some test purchases with various websites and John won. Hands down, Easily. Speed A+. Quality A+ (600 blades)....there were a few other details I was very pleased with, too!
This is why I'm gonna try putting together something unique (and powerful) using Audacity as my source. With this selection it's a "kid in the candy store"

BUT, don't tell everybody.....forum will become un-useable.

Just kiddin'....

You can add any 700-class head which use a 10mm main shaft, no problem. We do, however use the standard 600-class head with 700mm blades IF you are careful to observe a reasonable RPM of 1500 maximum. Our purpose with this setup is what we call the Pussycat, which is a 1000RPM main rotor for aerobatic maneuvers. It's a HOOT to fly.

I am not like a lot of heli pilots that think they have to buy a new heli every year but I am in good company. There are a lot of us that want to buy a heli and know we can buy parts for year to come. The Pantera was my first heli I ever bought and I am glad I did. The first Pantera I bought years ago is still flying as I passed it on to my son. I have other Panteras that I have picked up that also fly great.

A shout out to John for filling a niche in the heli market that other companies are not wiling to do these days. Do not stop and please warn us if you are forced to stop providing parts so we can plan ahead.

Thanks

The parts availability is what has sold me on Audacity (along with meeting John in person at Toledo). I liked my Concept 30 - until Kyosho dropped it. I flew nitro Raptors for a number of years, and now Thunder Tiger has dropped those (wanna pay the prices from HeliKraft for 'Klone 50' parts?). I was given an Aeolus (with a box of parts, no less) - but AHF appears to be long, long gone. I'm tired of the 'parts chase'! Time to move pieces over to the new bird (a P6)."The helicopter is much easier to design than the aeroplane, but is worthless when done. W. Wright"
