Yep, You said it. But, in this case, you'll need to be a bit devious to get them to finally help you out. I noticed that the guys that get help are usually the ones who publically claim their allegiance to Avant.

Boy, ain't that the truth!

I only had one issue with Carbon Extreme...I placed my order for the Mostro nitro 1-1/2 weeks before the B-Ham fun fly. I ordered it 2-day shipping...and paid for it! On Monday I hadn't received anything about where the kit was. I was getting concerned and didn't want this new heli sitting outside for 5 day!

I sent Carbon Extreme an email stating I was going out of town for 5 day and no one would be around to pickup the package for me. And the fact I ordered it 2-day shipping. So if they couldn't get the kit out to me by the end of the day, cancel the order and I'll place the order when I get back.

I had a responce within an hour, with tracking number that stated I would have my kit Wednesday morning. And it was there on my door step...Wednesday morning!

The key phrase was "cancel my order!"

That sounds about right. Sucks that you have to basically threaten to take your money back before they'd do anything to help. Geez, I know they can do better and if they did, I really think more people would buy from them.

What keeps me away from buying their stuff again is just how people get treated....not their machines. From the notorious "you are all childish cry babies" back during their first release to how those who don't take to brain washing so well now....it's no wonder people are apprehensive.

Oh well, it is what it is. To them, I'm sure people like me don't deserve an Avant anyways....which is perfectly fine.

That's why I have the Synergy N7! Probably one of the last companies that listens to their customers and does something about it...I'm sure there are a couple more...maybe.

For me, I don't like to constantly complain, doing "their" R&D, sending endless emails for this/that/& the other thing... I just want to fly, work on my skills, and if I have a problem...order more available parts!

For me, I don't like to constantly complain, doing "their" R&D, sending endless emails for this/that/& the other thing... I just want to fly, work on my skills, and if I have a problem...order more available parts!
You are preaching to the choir sir. You'd figure by now, they'd work out a better way to deal with their customers...maybe hire a real customer service team instead of leaving the guy behind whose heli is trashed to answer phone calls....of course, you'd actually have to make money to pay them by selling more than just a handful of helis.

That's why I have the Synergy N7
I had a good experience with Synergy. I haven't flown one in a few years, but the last times I did, it flew like it was on locked on rails. Although it felt like it weighed at much as a freight train, it was a VERY nice heli to fly. I think it was an N9. I'm sure their designs have gotten much lighter since then and I hope Synergy sticks around.

Yea, I know, but I keep hoping for the rest of us to go back to the old ways...boycotting! Back in the day when we didn't like something, we would boycott products/companies. Don't by their product for a couple of months. Let sales come to a crawl. Then see if they will treat their customers better!

Case in point...Thunder Tiger has an awesome G4 nitro heli, and I would buy one in a half heart beat! However, with the lack of communications, the lack of parts, etc., I refuse to buy into another company that's "POSSIBLY" on the verge of closing. At least this company is no longer producing nitro helis...

Bottom line...if a company wants to act like jerks! I have no use for them! I'll take my money elsewhere. I had a local hobby shop tell me I couldn't buy anymore fuel for the year (mid October!) because it was too cold and no one flies in the winter time. Really??? I said "I do!" "I'll go somewhere else and buy my fuel! Good-bye" He regretted that. The owner had words for him after I left. Too late!

If you get the chance, you should checkout the newer N7 heli! I think you would like it a lot better!

I don't own either but I've worked a fair amount on both.
The Synergy is very much old school. Not much new to be so interesting. However, there are very specific details that clearly show me that the design is done with a lot of experience and engineering wisdom. As an engineer in the industry, I can tell when a decision is for engineering reasons and not cost cutting or some other reasons.

The Mostro is more new and creative and that takes a lot of effort. But, I see a number of things that I consider less than perfect engineering. Nothing terrible but not as well engineered as Synergy in the finer details IMO. And unfortunately, the quality control does not seem to be in quite as good control by a fair margin. Made in America means more to me than Designed in America so that's a plus (although sometimes I wonder if it actually is).
It's a nice heli and I like it. I hope Avant gets things together mostly as I don't like seeing any more in the industry go out of business. Overall, I vote for the Synergy for simplicity and the clearly thoughtful owners/creators.

I was cautioned that I might get a pinked post by a person and I was just woundering why i might get that kind of responce for speeking out about my experance with a Mfg. ladymagic was saying to use caution but that will not happen with me I tell it like it is from my POV......

Just to clear things up a bit...when I said "you might have earned yourself a pink post a few years ago", that was in reference to a few years back when Avant was alive and well and even Augusto came here regularly. This was during their first release dibacle. ALOT of users fed into the hype and so did I. I wanted an Aurora!

If I remember correctly, it took nearly 4 years to get the Aurora out the door after they announced it. It was all good and exciting for about the first 4 missed release dates and then things got nasty. Users felt like they were lied to by Avant and Avant started to get overly defensive and really sensitive when people started posting less than favorable things about there crappy release and that's when their customer relations went in the toilet. It got so bad at one point, Avant even called those who got tired of waiting and watching team pilot videos "childish" and "impatient." Yes, that really happened.

I believe there were Avant affiliated moderators that checked all the negative posts and would report them to RR back then...especially the most vocal users. That's not the case now...at least here, but back then it did not take much to get "pinked" for posting negatively against Avant. I even got pinked once. Your post likely would have been pinked, but more than likely, deleted.

Yep, sometimes they could even get a post they didn't like deleted. This entire thread could have been potentially closed since it doesn't state how awesome Avant is anywhere. Avant is the first and only MFG I've ever seen use that tactic and they still use it. That's my main issue with them. How do I know? I tried to tactfully challenge their claims of grandure on other forums, where they are more active, and I got banned very quickly.
