In the long term, I see Synergy having more staying power and better parts support so you can keep flying for years to come.
Avant has been around for awhile now and still provide parts support for the first bird that put their name out there, the Avant FX.

staying power
I feel the exact opposite if anyone would have the staying power it would be Avant because they have a lot more invested. synergy just designs the birds and has it made overseas whereas Avant actually makes the parts themselves in other words they have a building, equipment etc.

Avant Mostro vs. Synergy N,7
I have and do own a number of Synergy helis including E7 upgraded to E7Se, E5, E5s, N5c belt and upgraded to TT and also an N7. I have had great experience with all except the N7. I can't say for sure that the problem with the N7 but I had vibrations that I could not eliminate, may have been from the motors both OS 105 and YS Tareq 91 SRX but neither was smooth in the N7. I sold it out of frustration.
The N5c has been my best nitro Heli.
I also have the Avant Mostro Electric and it is one of the best helis I've ever owned, great looks quality and flight characteristics.
If the Nitro Mostro flies as well as the electric,I would say go with the Mostro.

I was silenced on heli freak because I was asking questions and I was just stating some problems some other customers were having. I decided to go ahead and take the plunge. So I bought an Avant Aurora 90 nitro, and I have never looked back. Customer service is great IMO. Funny thing, I would have great things to say about my Avant experience in heli freak but they still won't let me ask questions, or post or anything. Sure could have used some of the members on there, their advice!

Thats because some of the moderators are sponsored or work for one or more of the companies, like the one you ask questions about.
You wont have those problems here.

My apologies to the moderator, still have one post that never showed up. I'm new to the forum so I will assume it was something I didn't do right when I posted it. As for you all thank you very much for the reassurance. I bought my Avant today and I hoping to be an Avant customer for life. It's a 2010 Avant Aurora 90 FBL nitro. Hobby shop never sold it, I still hope Avant will warranty it.
Please don't play the forums against each other like that. Too many people buy into that and cheat themselves of valuable information they can obtain from both sites. If things got straightened out for you on the other site you should have come here made others aware of it over here, that would have been the fair thing to do, don't you think?

Nobody over at the heli freak site made it better, I still cannot post or anything, the moderator shut me up real quick when I started asking certain questions. I have even sent heli freak several messages through the contact us link with no response and that was over a month ago. I even apologize the the moderator for being so neg. but these were real members problems that weren't getting taken care of. And I'm sorry for asking certain question trying to figure out if I wanted to invest in an Avant, but thanks to this site, I took the plunge. I use this site for help and to give it if I can. Bet your one of those moderators from heli freak. I emailed Avant and all they told me was they have no control over forums. Evidently I'm not the only one helifreak has done that too, especially if you read this thread. Those kind of practices on the other site are not good for the hobby, especially when members are looking for honest answers and options like myself and many others. So Sir no I'm not pitting sites against each other, it's just that I want nothing to do with helifreak now, bad forum practices for our hobby.

There was. A few members over there that was helpful, they weren't moderators or factory fliers either, and I did thank them, but that was I think the last post I was able to make. Really glad I did get this heli, but I choose to brag about it over here, I was shut down over there before my heli even arrived. I have nothing but praise for Avant and the Aurora, and my experience with customer support is the best I've ever seen. And members here have already been helping me with my build. So thank you to them!

I can't comment on Synergy. They look like fine Helis.

I have two Aurora's and a Mostro. Delivery dates and communication from the company are spotty, especially on initial release. However, once you have the product, there is no problem getting parts from either Amain or CarbonXtreme (part of Avant).

The reps. from Avant are first rate and have helped me with every issue I've run into. The product is well designed and well made.

I'm not a rep., just an average Joe flyer. I like supporting a US company making a product in the US.

I like JR Products as well. Find JR is a step above Align, and Avant is two steps above JR.

That's my two cents.

I wish folks would just discuss the facts and not make snarky comments.

Cheers!

Funny thing is when certain people discuss "the facts" as they know them, they get brow-beat and ostrisized by Avant fanatics. Seems like you don't need "facts" as long as your farses are in favor of the company.

I built two Aurora N's and worked on a Mostro N and E and I can honestly say there is no praise for these machines from me. Do they fly well, yes they fly very well if you manage to get a good kit. But are they fun to build? No. 4 out of 4 times building these helis and each time, parts just didn't fit well or stuff was missing. I also had experiences with Avant customer service. And many probably do have a good experience with them...but I personally did not. They were rude and mostly unhelpful. But, becuase I'm not throwing praise, my opinions are not valid.

I don't consider myself a brand fanatic...I just like to fly what works well. Doesn't matter who makes it. If I'd had a even a descent experience with Avant, I'd be able to post on the other sites because I'd have good things to say. Since I didn't, I dare not say anything or be banned for life.

Right now, Align has been excellent which is why I have so many, and now that JR is back, they are quickly becoming my go-to brand. The F700 is great and the E6 also. Parts? Plentiful and they all fit like they're supposed to and the builds were actually fun. And if something wasn't so great I like that I can bring up issues with those machines without starting a witch hunt and being banned from an entire forum. I also would to people to be able to discuss the facts....good and bad.

I had no major issues with my Avant kits.

I have quite a few Align helis, and no major complaints except that many components needed upgrades to be up to what I like.

If you had bad experiences, you should be able to share them.

I have seen plenty of negative comments on the other forum regarding Avant's products and apparently they are not being deleted because i have seen where Avant has made changes in there design based on comments on the other site which brought to light if some things were changed it would provide more flexibility for the builder. The aurora i have was an easy build for me and the mostro was 3 times easier.

The only facts that exist are the ones each builder experiences when building/flying a model. For some, Avant products and customer services suck and for others Avant products and customer service have been great. The problem arises when people who have no experience with the product bash it to sway others to purchase other products. The same goes for the forums. We seem to do this in all facets of life. You can go to every brand over here and each will have its lovers and haters. Some brands are busy over here and some are not. on the other forum the same thing.

Bottom line, there are no facts, just a bunch of different experiences. Some are not in favor of and others are. In the end you have to do what works for you whether it is Avant, JR, Align, Mikado or any of the many other brands out there. Personally I have a few brands in my fleet and i search any forum that talks about rc helicopters.

I'm just finishing a Mostro and to say it's part fit is any ware near the Synergy N5c, N7, The Goblin 500, TSA 700n or the Gaui NX4 or NX7 that I have built would be an understatement due to the fact the build was vary nerve racking. The hardware just didn't want to go in place for me..Most of the fasteners felt like they were trying to gall or something.
The ball end for one of the T/R grips did in fact do just that and when I tried to work it out of the grip it broke, so I had to buy a new SET of grips and 2m ball ends for a total bill of $49.00. This puts the coast of this kit well above the rest of the kits in the 700 category..... I tried to get a hold of Avant with no success. I feel vary left out in the cold on this..I KNOW that Mr. or Mrs. Botos of Synergy would have been right there to help me out !!! (Just saying)

Sorry Avant, I did have really high hopes for this build but you've missed the mark set by most of the other less costly 700 kits out there.

Oh my, I'm sorry to hear that, but also slightly amused.

But, don't worry, Avant will swoop in very loudly to save the day so everyone can see them doing it. That seems to be their MO. Thank you for the honest feed back.

Now I have a big white spot on the aft end of the canopyI dream of a better world, A world where a chicken's crossing a road IS NOT questioned

Admittedly, the Mostro does have some really neat design concepts, but of all it's features, that big ass flap in the back of that giant canopy probably isn't one them and it detracts from the heli's refinement factor the most imho. Poor design choice and cheap materials scream "cheap" not "speed."

In just about every pic I've seen, pilots have been trying to wrangle that flap in with either tape or velcro...frankly, neither option looks good and that area needs to be redone.

Just off canopy looks, the Mostro ranks among the lowest at our field. Just changing up that rear canopy and freshening up the paint scheme would be a tremendous help.
