So how exactly how do you set the (+) and (-) collective for let's say 13 degrees??
I though I explained that....

With the VBar Setup menu, if you have upgraded to the "Pro" version of your Vbar or MiniV, there is a calculator that gives the FP/FN collective...in degrees....using trigonometry based on your blade length(mounting hole to blade tip) and "tip-spread" when at FP or FN collective.

No digital gauge needed to do this.

how much
heli is fine as long as the tail does not kick out [if it does then too much pitch]

degree does not really matter, if at rapid collective there is no yaw then pitch is okay
To many people, it does matter.

They want to know.

As was mentioned, each to their own way.

I'll stick with my way for now.

Ronald, here's a VStabi link to show what I mean...

VStabi Collective Setup

http://www.vstabi.info/en/collective

Vstabi 0-deg. at midstick setup

http://www.vstabi.info/en/zero_collective

Keep in mind that the 5.3 Version menu is slightly different, but the same principle applies.

As revmix says you don't actually need a specific collective pitch figure. Go by feel and sound, it's all good. Tail kick/yaw can be countered for using tail pre comp, going by collective stopping power and bogging would be better.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Ronald, that eyeball method sounds like a guessing game to me!! Mite as well eyeball the cyclic to, don`t need no guage. I myself go digital and get things spot on!! I also do just like you said

precise pitch degree ain't necessary; could be a few tenths off or over
get things spot on
13* only recommended, with performance motor there is enough power for 14 degrees [&/or between]

The 8 degree cyclic (Vbar) or 6 degree cyclic (BeastX) is to tell the unit the servo to head geometry and resolution so it can work out how it needs to react.

It's the COLLECTIVE pitch that you can do what the hell you like with providing mid stick is 0 (fold blades back to check this! )

60% of the time, it works every time!

Not all fbl units care about where X* of cyclic is.
With some units you can pretty much eyeball the whole thing and tune in flight, that's if you know how and have a good eye

spending time, paying attention

Yeah, might as well forget about any math, too.

Who needs to use math, anyway.
