Does anyone know how to get this motor apart? I thought there would be a set screw but I don't see one. I Have a new shaft with bearings but now I don't see how to get it apart.

If its like the 450mx, the shaft has to be pressed out of the can. I wish they used a c clip on the shaft vs the welded ring. I haven't tried it yet though. Maybe someone who has can share some pointers.

I will be giving it a try tonight if I get a chance. I think I can stick some small screw drivers through the cooling fan and with them resting on a block of wood I will try to tap the shaft out

I would use a block of wood with a hole in it for the motor shaft. Put the motor shaft down and press it through. I don't think its good for the bearings but you're replacing them anyway. I wouldn't use the cooling fan holes to support the can.

There was a online pictorial somewhere. Let me see if I bookmarked it. Brb

If you Google "Align motor shaft replacement" there are several tutorials and a couple vids. The one for the 700mx will work, they are similar minus the set screws.

Well I got the shaft and bearings replaced. Wasn't too hard I guess but i ran the motor up to speed without the pinion and it seems to have a lot of vibration transferring into the frames. I'm not sure if it did that before that bad or not but I think it might have. That was part of the reason I wanted to try new bearings.

I wonder if there is runout on the can. Is there any noticeable wobble?

Almost forgot, are you running throttle curves instead of a gov? I ask because you maybe running much higher rpm than in flight.

I don't see any run out. I don't use a gov. I probably should have just bought a new motor rather than tapping on it with a hammer to get it apart to replace the bearings. As fast as these motors are spinning I'm sure it doesn't take much the throw them off.

I think I figured out my problem. I noticed the motor can shifting up and down meaning I didn't have it all the way together. I tapped it together a little farther and now its a lot smoother but now on top the shaft is sticking out a little bit and it wasn't like that before. I wonder if I lost a shim? I didn't see any when I took it apart but probably did loose one.
