You will probably need to get a lawyer and have them attempt to collect.....or go to one of those "do it yourself" legal websites. You may have to obtain a lean against any property he has.

I may be in the same boat as you....we have a judgement against a bar owner that is going through the appeals process. He has already declared bankruptcy so we are not expecting anything in return.

The way they would do against you if they had a judgement against you is to hire a collection agency to collect their money from you for a fee.

You should seriously consider doing the same thing.

That is what collection agencies do.

You won't have to hire a leg breaker, a ball buster, or a hit man.

Once a collection agency is retained, they will not stop the action of collection until they have collected or the end of time.

They are extremely persistent. Much like the IRS.

Check this out:

If the company is able to make you angry enough, you might fall into the trap of making a threat and then the tables are turned.

Stay cool.

Best of luck.

Typical liberal California government crap, Why don't California follow these suggestions they are telling the public?

I had a truck I didn't register and was thinking about parting it out, 6 months later California took the money out of my checking account and sent me the tags in the mail, at lest I didn't have to smog it lol,
I looked up the law, and any money "fee" owed to California that is not paid and is past a due, it is now considers a tax, and can be collected anyway like a tax.....

You might try your local area before you sign onto that one.

That fee is a bit on the high side.

What Gearhead said sound good:
put a "Lean" of every thing he owns, house, car, trucks/jeep, boat, motorcycle, snowmobile, horse,, "anything and everything" he can sell,, it may take years to get your money but when the time comes you may get a couple thousand more than you are owed today
Now, how do you do that? Check this out:
If the judgment debtor has not paid the judgment debt when it is due, or made arrangements to pay it over time, California law gives the judgment creditor the right to put a lien Opens new window on the debtor’s personal property -- for example, an automobile or boat. (See California Code of Civil Procedure, Sections 697.510 through 697.670) Opens new window

To put a lien on the debtor’s personal property

Step 1. Get and fill out California Secretary of State form:
•Notice of Judgment Lien (Form JL-1) Opens new window

Step 2. Make 2 copies - one for your file and the other to file with the Secretary of State.

Step 3. File Opens new window the original and 1 copy of the Notice of Judgment Lien with the California Secretary of State’s Office by mailing the two documents, together with a check to pay their filing fee, to:

Secretary of State’s Office
P.O. Box 942845
Sacramento, CA 94235-0001

IMPORTANT: When you are fully paid you must remove the lien and file an Acknowledgment of Satisfaction of Judgment (Form EJ-100) with the court.
See the section on Satisfaction of Judgment.
http://cc-courthelp.org/index.cfm?f...age&pageId=4801

The above link gives the link for (Notice of Judgment Lien (Form JL-1)

Download that form and slap a lien on him.

Best of luck.
