I purchased a V2 muffler from B.hanson less than 3 months the inside is broken with less then 20 flights I contacted century helicopter they ask me to send them a picture and a receipt they just got back to me please read also keep in mind the warranty is for 1 year of any manufacture defect please also keep in mind hanson has been a dealer for century for years the warranty never said you had to purchased from century in order to be valid
here's a copy of century's reply to my email

Unfortunately, we do not warranty our mufflers that are sold through BH due
to their engine tuning. If you had purchased the muffler through us, we may
have been able to warranty it. Thank you and have a good day.

Sorry you have had that happen. unfortunately the V2 will break at that point due to vibrations. the stinger inside is only welded on one side of the supporting plate while the free end is left to bounce up and down (the part you see from the end inside. bad design really). I have had 3 break in 3 years the exact same way. the last one I was lucky, I was able to pull that stinger out the end, so I can still use it.

What I noticed was that the only way to get the muffler to last was to properly support the end of the muffler to the frame and not allow it to vibrate like a tuning fork. The support they sell helps but the crappy plastic tie loosens and falls off after a few flights, so changed it out for a metal wire tie to get it fixed.

the warranty BS they told you is un called for I agree, cause then basically they wont warranty ANY dealer... that sells engines

wonder if that goes for Heli World too cause they sell modded engines (which are nothing more than the same mods that TRM and BH has anyway)...?

I like thier closing response...

I read it as "Thank you and go F yourself..."

Cheerleaders left the island when century stopped paying their advertising bill here. They followed the hand that feeds them.

All for Century stand up and holler.

Ummm, guys, that's your cue.

Uglyrider, Have you contacted BH? I would think since you bought the muffler from them they'd be your first contact.

What'd BH have to say?

Wow I just seen this what a bunch of jerks. I have a rad 30 that I wish I never bought 2 years ago. One place left in Canada to get parts for it.

Looking to buy a Trex 700 and converting it to gas because Trex parts are easy to get and when I do I will throw all my century stuff away.

I dont blame ya...

kinda hard to buy a gasser that has little support parts wise, especially in Canada.

maybe TSA will one day present thier "G" model...

you know like 3 years after they started boxing them up for shipment

go with the Trex, IMHO its your best option for overall support.

I walked into the hobby shop where I bought my Rad 30 asking about some parts the and owner said that he ran away from century and that I should do the same. The shop owner said that he would give me a really deal on a different brand heli because he felt bad for me.

If someone asks me what heli they should buy I say anything but a Century product. I have to be honest.

I have never owned a gasser heli but Century hawk/Falcon/RAven were great reliable helis.. Im not sure why Century stopped supporting helis in the US. Its a separate issue and doesnt mean much but those helis were very reliable for me for ovver 5+ years.

I dont fly Century anymore as Audacity takes great care of my needs...Still I wouldnt hesitate to buy one of those helis....Well I would due to the lack of parts isssue but no falt on those mechs

Glad to see some people had a good experience with Century.
I was not as fortunate and have a big box full of Century kits enough to build and maintain 2 Ravens + 1 shelf queen .
It's been sitting in my closet for 4 years now, Been having a hard time with regrets to just trash it all. I almost have it donated but just can't be bothered to look at it.

Century sucks, plain and simple. I purchased a Radikal G20. I have maybe 35 flights and it has gone through 3 clutches, including their HD clutch. The problem is the clutch breaks free on one end. I dont even do 3D with it. I walked into their world headquarters in San Jose and it just so happens the owner was near the front counter. I asked the owner why was the clutch breaking. His response was, "it's made in China, what do you expect?" He then walked away. I can tell you I will never be purchasing another Century Heli again. They were once a good quality company, not anymore. Maybe they should stick to selling quads only.

Yeah
And they used to sell it for $499.95 and it cost $75 to make it. But it is what it is, there is always a place in the market for these and some people want something more affordable.

Centruy will also make you research a whole lot more before you buy another gasser too... teach you what to look out for in the design and such. And not fall for all the rep hype either.
