You could use those packs just fine in the 480, especially if you're not flying it really hard...even then it would just mean a little less flight time, Mikado recommends 4000 for it.

Of course that is just my opinion...

I use them and also some 2600's for light flying. I may not spool it up quite as much as others, I can get easily 6 minutes w the 2600's, close to 9 with the others. All depends on your head speed, main gear, and flying style. I still only fly 6 with the 3300's.

The 480 is great for a lot of various lipo sizes including 3300s... now if some blade manufacturers could just give us more options this heli could really take off. The only complaint I have is the fins. If they were colored like the SX series (easy fix) the visibility would be as good or better than most 550s despite the smaller overall size. The Mikado orange color really stands out and makes tracking the heli very easy.

I was not a fan of the unusual size when I first heard of the 480 release but after flying one, I was extremely impressed and could see it replacing the 450s/500s in my hanger without missing them. It is a very smart design that works great.

I painted my fins just like my larger SX models, also found some bright sticker covering type of material and added a little color to the booms to help me with visibility. I found the 480 canopy to be the easiest (of my helis) to see as the sun is setting and i'm getting into the shadows.

I'm using 3700 mah batteries, coming down after 7 minutes with 50% left at 1900 rpm and using a 17t pinion. It has all the power I need for sport and mild 3d flying. Also painted the tail fin and stabilizer neon yellow and added yellow electrical tape striping on the rear of the tail boom which really helped

3300 Packs
I use 3700 Pulse packs and also 3800 and 3300 Thor packs. They all work great. The 480 XXtreme is a fantastic little Heli. I agree it could use some color on the tail for visibility but I like the Orange and yellow xxtreme colors so much that I bought one for my 600SX and I'm hoping they do one for the 690,SX also. I also think that Mikado should do a 580 xxtreme as I'm really starting to like the flight characteristics of the xxtreme series ( I have the 800, 700 and 480 xxtremes, along with the 600 and 690 SX)
Logos are growing on me big time, just don't crash them, they simply explode!
