I would recommend a separate BEC if you don't want to run HV. The Perfect regulators line has proven excellent in my experience. If you also have a HV tail servo I would just make a battery plug to twin male servo harness and run direct voltage. Just remember to disable your BEC on the Edge or remove the red wire from the plug.

So the rec and tags will be ok running with the two cell lipo without a regulator , and one end of the y harness to the rec and one to the tags ?

yes, not an issue

if your building a custom harness anyways you may even consider adding a third servo plug, one to the receiver and two to the tags. There is much more current demand from the tags than the receiver. But the receiver should also be able to transfer most of its current to the tags as well.

I run a 2000mAh lipo for my Rx supply running HV servos. It sits nicely on the tray behind the flight battery within the frames, so no chance of it flying off the model.
