I'll likely think you are using an OS50. I remember well the limited power provided by that engine, and how easily it would bog with high blade pitch. So can many others. Collective management is an excuse for low powered engines like the 0.50 cubic inch OS and YS. With big blocks, we now have the power a 600 class should have had all along. If we had them sooner perhaps nitro would not be in such decline.

The large bore engines make more power because "there's no replacement for displacement." Now, stop blowing OS50 smoke, err exhaust, up our ass.

I would pick either 1 again

The nice thing about the YS60 is you can run it on the rich side and still make more power then the OS55.

I got about 21 gallons or so before I had to do anything to my YS60 and that was my fault any way.

I don't know why every one always has something bad to say about that engine.

In my case, The engine would not start brand new out of the box.
It wasn't getting fuel through the carb. When I opened it up I found a piece of metal in the needle blocking fuel.
Then it started. On the first run it leaned out and burnt the ring.
I then put it on the shelf and used my older OS55 instead.
I might repair it this year.

Seems to be luck of the draw with that one.

I'm amazed at how often I find metal shavings in RC components. Seems to be common in products made in China and Taiwan.

With the YS being made in Japan, metal shavings in the needle seat surprises me.

Give it a nother try there is no other motor out there that can even come close to the power of th YS60. After flying it for a while you will never go back to the OS55.
